I personally enjoyed it and went 3 times when I visited Japan

No. There are much better places around Osaka.

I donβt get the Ichiran phenomenon with tourists here. There are a gazillion ramen places that are so much better!

I tried it and liked it, but sure there are much more phenomenal bowls if you go looking. Ichiran is more for the experience of the single introvert stalls than the actual bowl imo

Depends what you mean by ‘worth it’. It’s the easy option which is probably good enough, you won’t have to worry about doing research or there being a queue, but you’re very unlikely to be getting the ‘best ramen’ in Osaka,.
Is it value for money? probably
Are there better places out there on a similar price point? almost certainly, but youre going to have to put in a bit more effort with them.

Ichiran ramen is honestly good. Local ramens are unique flavour that may suits a selective palette.
I would regret if you didnt try Ichiran in Osaka before leaving.

Why not goto a local Osaka chain like Kamukura?

Only if itβs your first ever ramen experience in Japan. But if youβve been to Ichiran elsewhere in Japan, try expanding your horizons and check out other ramen places.

Bruh people gotta stop coming to japan and eating ichiran lmfao

There are people who swear by it and people who say it’s overrated. Both opinions aren’t wrong but aren’t completely right either.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with it and i personally quite like their ramen, but i’d only consider eating there if the queue is short (say 15 minutes or less). I’ve seen queues snaking around dotonbori where the sign says the wait is 2 hours long. In cases like these i’d say to just search tabelog and eat something else.
