Okayama Station Hotels & ANA Crowne Plaza Stay | Room Tour, Lounge & Travel Tips

[Music] Say hi. [Music] Shinagawa. No, this is Okyama. They’re trying to get the same vibe. And it is lovely here. It hasn’t been corrupted by tourism yet. It’s so wonderful. It’s like the Japan of 20 years ago. At Okyama Station, ANA Crown Plaza hugs the west side with a covered sky bridge. And hotel ground via is right inside the station on the east side for ultra smooth shinkansen access. Nearby counterparts like Royet Viain and Trend also connect directly, ideal for travelers who want to start exploring without delay. The station boasts plenty of food and beverage outlets as well as world-class shopping and even some local sites. [Music] Hotel is pretty easy to find. It’s just down one end of the station and there’s this covered overpass to get to it. And right now we’re heading back towards the station which you’ll see in a minute. It looks surprisingly like a mini shinagawa with all the screens on the left and right hand sides. I think this will be big in a few years when foreign tourists start coming here, which is sad, but it is what it is. There’s a taxi stand right over here. And as you can see, civilization. Ah, that is a very pretty roof on this civilization right over here. Okyama station. We’re just looking for some breakfast as we don’t have that at our hotel today. So, time for a little cafe. Maybe some comini gluten-free food for Andy. We will figure it out. Here’s another hotel right here. Probably a cheaper one. All right, I’m going to sign off for a minute. The elevators to the rooms offer great views and even a small seat that Andy enjoyed. Staff were always on hand, ready to greet you and call an elevator just for you. Hi everybody. We’re here at room 1716 at the ANA Crown Plaza in Okyama. So, this is a new destination for us both. Uh the hotel itself is connected to the station, which is fantastic. And it didn’t look all that great, but actually everything but the room is fantastic. We have platinum elite benefits. Um we’re getting uh lots of value out of that. And let me just show you around the room. My apologies. We got in late and we were walking. So, it’s pretty messy in here, but it’s a small bathroom. Uh tub is nice and deep even though it’s not that big. Shower water pressure is good. You got a little window in here too to get some light in. Um you have your standard closet, slippers, safe. I don’t know if we have anything in here. Laundry. Uh oh, a clock radio. There’s a spare. Uh they’ve recently put in AI that controls the lights to all of this. So, that’s kind of interesting. Here’s your humidifier. Uh it does a little something. This is the control that they’ve got now that does the lights and everything. So, that’s pretty neat. I can do all off or all on. Uh when I booked this, I booked it on 23,000 points for two nights. Hi honey. And uh that’s cheap. And it was only guarantee of a double bed, but a day later they had already upgraded us to premium king room, king club room with club privileges. They don’t have a club here. Uh but they do have a bar on the 20th floor and you get free drinks for 2 hours. And it was quality whiskey actually and pretty good wine. Uh, plus some orurves and we had car a and French fries and a little plate of like nuts and cheese and stuff. So, it was pretty good. Reasonable size TV. You got your coffee machine. Got a mirror out here. It’s well lit. It does have a view of the station. So, that’s the Shinkansen track that you’re looking at down there. That’s actually a Shinkansen on it, I think. No. Yeah, that’s a shin consson on it right over here. Can see the nose of it. Um, so it’s been so far a pretty good stay. Uh, we don’t expect as much from IHG as we do from Hilton. And, uh, it was pleasantly surprisingly good. Uh, the least exciting thing is the room. The room is small and the climate control is not so great. We’ve got it down to 65, as low as it’ll go and it is hot in here. Yeah, it’s warm. There’s no plugs on this side of the bed. That’s true. Which is very old school. All my stuff is over there. I can’t Yeah. You know how you wake up at night and see what time it is? Yeah, that’s probably the biggest. That and the climate is probably the biggest. My side does have it, but his doesn’t. And a normal person would say, “Well, pull it out and just unplug and replplug. It’s all hardwired in. Yeah, you get that sometimes in Japan. So, yeah. No. Oh, we also did have uh pajamas. You can see them down there. They’re waffle pajamas. We haven’t opened them cuz they never fit. And there were robes in the closet to wear, too. I think that’s about it for now. And oh, I didn’t know, but it was our anniversary. Yeah, apparently it was our anniversary. Okay. And a card. Happy anniversary. Happy anniversary. [Music] Well, last night we’ve managed to find uh in the station there’s a shopping center and there’s a depica with a supermarket. So, there was stuff there was stuff you could eat. Sashimi and I filled the hole and that’s Yeah, you did safely. All right. Bye bye. The Sky Bar and Lounge Sen on the 20th floor offers club lounge privileges with stunning unobstructed views of Okyama City. The lounge feels light and airy, featuring large windows and comfortable seating. A perfect spot to relax. So, we’ve arrived at the ANA Crown Plaza in Okyama. It’s much nicer than I thought it would be. The pictures from the outside don’t do it justice. It’s actually quite nice. The views are lovely. We got upgraded with club lounge access and that gives us a free menu which I will show you. At the lounge, we received a menu outlining the club privileges. Tea time with soft drinks and tea from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. followed by cocktail hour from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A special cocktail menu was available, though Andy happily opted for a simple rum and coke, no problem at all. Small buffet style fried snacks were provided along with individual nut, dried fruit, and cheese trays. While the buffet wasn’t gluten-free, everything on the personal trays except the crackers was safe for Andy. Your impression so far. I’ll let you know when my drink gets here. Okay. Both the wine I enjoyed and the rum in Nandi’s drink were exceptional quality. Thus ends another great stay, this time in Okyama, Japan.
