Happinet has published a public digital demo for Starbites on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. The demo is immediately available online on the Japanese PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop.

This demo contains the early parts of the RPG’s prologue story, including the sub-quests that are available in the span. Players will also be able to carry over their demo save data to the full release, which will appear in Japan on October 16. However, this demo restricts the characters’ maximum level to 15.
As a side note, the Japanese Nintendo eShop page seems to suggest that the Japanese Switch version will be playable on Switch 2 via backward compatibility. Both the Switch 1 & 2 versions of the Japanese release also have the same size of 5.2GB. As NIS America’s localization announcement for Starbites explicitly mentions Switch 2, it remains to be seen whether that will be a dedicated Switch 2 Edition for the game or not. But while the North American release will support English and French, the Japanese release of Starbites will only be available in Japanese and Korean.
