Planning your family trip to Japan? You’re in for an unforgettable adventure. But let’s talk about the real highlight for any trip, the food. Especially when you’re looking for something delicious, easy, and authentic for everyone. Today, we’re taking you to two food paradises in Osaka. Get ready to discover street food that will make your taste buds sing and create amazing family memories. We asked real visitors what they loved, and their reactions speak for themselves. From fresh seafood to classic Osaka treats, we’ll show you exactly what to try. Let’s dive in. [Music] If you’re looking for the best street food in Osaka, you’ve got two great options, both just a short walk from Namba Station, Kuraman Market, and Doen Bori. They’re in different directions, so you can pick the one that fits your plan. Now, let’s hear from people who have enjoyed dining at each of these places. Where are you from? We are from Turkey. Welcome to Japan. Is it first time to eat fish? Yeah. Yeah. First time to eat. First time to here. I didn’t even hear about it. Okay. Maybe we say before eating. Yeah. This is good. Yeah. Good. Yeah. Very good. Very good. Okay. I want to try also. [Music] Yeah, it’s delicious. For real. For real. Good. Yeah, it’s good choice. I recommendation. Yeah, of course. Definitely 100%. Yeah, thank you. Known as Osaka’s kitchen, this market is the best spot for an eat as you go food tour. You can get incredible seafood, meats, and fresh seasonal fruits right on the spot. We’re talking fresh crab, sea urchin, and tuna sashimi along with skewers of premium Wagyu beef. It’s a truly amazing experience to see and taste the highquality ingredients the pros use. Just remember, it’s a market, so its hours are a bit limited. Most shops close around 6 p.m., so your best bet is to go in the morning or early afternoon to get the full experience. Cashin is a very popular spot with a huge variety of delicious food. The medium fatty tuna chro is about $4.6080 yen for two pieces or about $8.80 1,299 yen for four pieces. Everything is super affordable so a lot of items sell out quickly. Our advice, go early. We also had the eel which was only about $2.70 400 yen. It was so soft and easy to eat. Definitely worth it. This is good. Yeah, good. Shinoi. If you love oysters, this is the place to be. You can enjoy fresh oysters from Hokkaido. The regular size is about $4 600 yen, and the large size is about $81,200 yen. They’re incredibly fresh and meaty, and you can eat them right there. Try them with a squeeze of fresh lemon. Nishiawa is a visually stunning place where you can enjoy sea urchin uni served in its shell. You can also pick your favorite size of crab, which makes ordering easy. The price for uni ranges from about $10 to $27, 1,500 yen to 4,000 yen, depending on the size, and king crab can range from about $6 to $68, 900 yen to 10,000 yen, depending on the amount. For our order, we got the medium-sized uni for $13.50 2,000 yen, and the extra-large crab for about $20.30,000 yen. I am from Croatia in Europe. Europe. Europe. Yes. Welcome to Japan. Thank you. So, what food do you recommend for tourists? Everything is is is excellent. I don’t know. Today, we first try Wagyu. It’s it’s amazing. Amazing. Sushi is is great. We already eat sushi in our country, but it’s different here. It’s It’s better. Match. Strawberry mochi. Yeah. Yeah. And this is my first time to trying that. So, let’s see. Yeah. How is it? [Music] Oh my god. It’s good. It is good. It’s excellent. Oh, strawberry. Strawberry. Oh. Yeah. Japanese strawberry is sweet. Good. So good. dessert. And as you’re walking, you’ll find shops selling fresh fruit. You’ll see them in cups or on skewers, but we recommend you skip the ones with a candy coating. Japanese fruit is incredibly sweet and delicious on its own. And the candy really gets in the way of both the taste and the amazing texture. So, be sure to enjoy the pure natural flavor. How long will you stay in Japan? Uh, we’re here for about 3 weeks. 3 weeks. Oh, very long. Mhm. Yeah. Wow. Like it’s a lot to do. Mhm. And a lot to eat. Yes. You know. What is this? Okay. Crab fried rice. Oh, fried rice. How much is it? Um 800. Yeah. 800. Pretty cheap. Yeah. And it got good flavor. Oh, nice. And I highly recommend it. M. Cheap here. Yeah. Cheaper. Yes. Very expensive back in the United States. Yes. Very. You estimated how much is this in United States? Folks crab fried, right? Yeah. At least10 to $15. Yes. Just for this much right here. Yes. Yeah. Really? Yeah. That’s why it best to come overseas to eat. It’s cheap to eat here. Yeah. Wow. Save a lot of money. Yeah. You don’t eat too much. I can’t tell. Squid now. I got to get the squid now. Yeah. You bet. I got to get the squid. How was it? Good. Good. It is good. No complaint for me. It’s good. Everything is good. Doen Bori is the face of Osaka. Famous for its giant signs and incredible energy. Doen Bori is your go-to for classic Osaka street food like takoyaki octopus balls, okanamiyaki savory pancakes, and even ramen. So, what do you want to try Japanese food? And what do we want to try for Japanese food? Yeah, of course. Of course, sushi authentic kitchen. The the dumplings and guiosa are my favorite. So, yeah, that um you want to We tried the the the the balls yesterday. Takoyaki. Takoyaki. Oh, yeah. Takoyaki Johabin is a very popular spot and you’ll almost always see a line. You order and pay at the counter first, then wait for your freshlymade takoyaki. We recommend the half and half, which lets you try two different flavors. A classic sauce with mayo and a simple salted version. An order of eight is about $5.50 820 yen and 10 is about $6.70 1,000 yen. Just wait in line and you’ll be handed your piping hot takoyaki. Osaka Asho is an extremely popular gyoza restaurant in Osaka. Their regular gyoza is very affordable at about $2.40, 40 cents 350 yen for six pieces. Their most popular item is the doten bori gyoza which costs about $4600 yen. It’s a unique flavor you won’t find anywhere else topped with a special sauce, mayonnaise, ginger, and green onions. Kenrio Ramen has been a beloved spot for locals in Doten Bori for years. It’s a pork bone broth tangatu ramen. The one with extra slices of roasted pork costs about $7.40 401,100 yen and the regular version is about $5.40 800 yen. You can enjoy it as is or you can add garlic, chives, and kimchi from the counter to customize the flavor. So, what food did you like in Japan? Oh, good. I like soba. Soba. Cold soba. Cold soba. It’s my favorite, too. I like the Wagyu beef. The the steak. Yeah, it’s delicious. It just like melts in your mouth, especially with the good flavor. We don’t we don’t always have that good uh beef everywhere in America. So, it’s really good. Here you can enjoy top quality Kobe beef. They have a range of options from affordable to high-end. Even the cheapest skewers start at about $10,500 yen, but this premium skewer is about $34 5,000 yen. It’s incredibly tender, juicy, and the sweetness of the meat really comes through. We also highly recommend the Kobe beef sushi. The meat isn’t raw. It’s lightly seared right in front of you. When you eat it without any sauce, it just melts in your mouth. A set of four pieces is about $26.50 3,900 yen. The performance of them searing the meat right in front of you makes for a great memory. The best part, unlike the market, most of these places stay open late into the night. It’s perfect for dinner after a day of sightseeing or a fun night out. So whether your family wants to enjoy fresh, high-quality ingredients at a market or dive into some iconic local classics under the neon lights, Osaka has something for everyone. Both Kyraman Market and Dotenbari offer a taste of Japan that your family will never forget.
