[Rakuten] First-round draft Rui Muneyama hits a right-front hit for his 100th hit of the season, expanding his chances.

Rakuten ‘s first draft pick, infielder Rui Rui Muneyama, who started as the fifth batter and starting line-up for the first time in four games, hit a single to right field in his second at-bat with one out and a runner on first base in the fourth inning, widening the gap to his 100th hit in his 107th game of the season. He is the second rookie this season to hit 100 or more hit, following Lotte Marine’s Nishikawa.

He started in the opening starting line-up against Orix on March 28th (Kyocera Dome) as the second batter and shortstop, and recorded his first professional hit in his fourth at-bat of the game, a single to right field. Since then, he has racked up hit, including four multi-hit games. He is the fourth fielder to achieve 100 or more hit in his first year with Rakuten, following Mogi (118 hit in 2016), Watanabe (110 hit in 2007), and Kofuda (109 hit in 2020). As of the 16th, he has a batting average of .261, 25 RBI, and three Home Run runs this season.
