T-Okada, who served as a commentator for “Orix vs. Lotte,” which was produced by MBS Radio and broadcast on Nippon Broadcasting System, commented on Lotte’s Daito Yamamoto.
T-Okada said of Yamamoto’s appeal, “It’s his swiping power,” and continued, “It’s quite appealing that a right-handed Japanese player can hit such long balls.”
In his second at-bat in the fourth inning with the score at 0-3 and no outs and doble on first base, Yamamoto hit a double over the right field off Daiki Tajima, and T-Okada reflected, “It was fascinating.Even though it was a sweet pitch, he caught it well.”
Last season, Yamamoto’s fourth year as a professional, he won the double crown in Home Run and RBI in the farm team.This season, he started the season in the second team but was promoted and has hit 11 Home Run so far, including five in the interleague games, which is tied for second place among the 12 teams.
