The event will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Atlanta and Fukuoka being sister cities.

DULUTH, Ga. — A huge event will celebrate Japan and Japanese culture this weekend north of Atlanta.

JapanFest is taking place on Saturday and Sunday at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth. It will feature performances, food vendors, hands-on experiences and much more.

The event will also mark the 20th anniversary of Atlanta and Fukuoka, Japan being sister cities, with a special booth at the convention dedicated to Fukuoka. 

Special guest performers will include the Japanese idol group LinQ, who appeared on Atlanta and Co. on Wednesday, and Chikushi Shuraku showcasing the spinning top art of Hakata Koma. You can see some of the highlights previewing JapanFest from Atlanta and Co. in the video player above this story.

JapanFest will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $22.30.
