Monks has appointed Yukiko Ochiai as Managing Director of Monks Japan. In her new role, Ochiai will oversee business growth, drive creative and marketing excellence across creative, digital media, and data operations, and strengthen client partnerships with AI-powered innovation and technology solutions. “She will guide the agency’s expansion in one of the world’s most unique and advanced and digitally progressive markets,” Monks said in a release.

Ochiai has more than 20 years of international advertising experience. She has a track record of driving growth and creative innovation across multiple markets, combining strategic vision with team leadership to deliver results for global brands.

Prior to joining Monks, Ochiai was CEO of Grey Tokyo, where she led a transformation that positioned the agency among the region’s most successful. Under her leadership, Grey Tokyo achieved double-digit growth in both revenue and profit and was named Campaign’s Creative Agency of the Year for three consecutive years (2021, 2022, and 2023).
