Each dish has a story to tell, carefully crafted to not only look beautiful but also leave a lasting taste. The course menu, centered around seasonal ingredients, offers a harmonious blend of aroma, temperature, and texture, perfect for adults only. Gifu’s famous bakery, “Train Bleu,” bakes bread to complement Reminiscence’s cuisine. A champagne toast will be served. The course menu is themed around lingering memories and memories, and features sea urchin “arare” (crackers). The combination of rice crackers and wheat bread is fascinating. Nishiura Asari Biwa trout , firefly squid, and wine pairings are also exceptional. The collaboration between the chef and sommelier further enhances the cuisine. Chef Amanoiwato
personally collects spring water near Ise Shrine to make the Nagoya Cochin chicken soup and kelp stock. Eel, a Nagoya specialty since the restaurant’s founding,
is served in a French setting. Fried bread, Kochi mandarin orange sorbet, and a meat dish featuring golden-eyed snapper are the main course. The meat, cooked rare, complements the sauce perfectly. Depending on the day’s stock, it may be beef or duck. The dessert is a refreshing and delicious blood orange granita. The second course is strawberry ice cream. The dessert , tea and sweets, are a delight to the last detail . Spending time in a quiet, high-quality space is truly a treat for adults,
making your night in Nagoya even more special. This is a famous French restaurant worth stopping by on your Nagoya trip. Return to the hotel and fall asleep. BUCYO There was a long line for breakfast at COFFEE, so we gave up. It was a 28-minute ride on the Higashiyama subway line, then a 13-minute transfer to the Linimo at Fujigaoka station. It was about a 40-minute train ride from Nagoya, and we arrived at Ghibli Park! Ghibli Park is located within the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park. Our first stop was “Hill of Youth,” a replica of the antique shop “Chikyu-ya” featured in “Whisper of the Heart.” Passing through the door from the film instantly brought back memories of the film. Experience the “Cat Office” from “The Cat Returns,” a mysterious and humorous world filled with unique cats. For fans of the film, it’s nostalgic, and even those unfamiliar with the film will find it enjoyable, like visiting a small secret base. Our next stop was “Ghibli’s Big Warehouse,” a large indoor space condensed with the charm of Ghibli. This area could be considered the heart of Ghibli Park. Stepping inside the building feels like exploring a movie warehouse. The high-ceilinged hall recreates the buildings and cityscapes featured in Ghibli films, making you feel like you’re immersed in the world of the story. Milk Stand Siberian Anko Milk Stand Siberian Anko You can try Siberian Anko, featured in the Ghibli film “The Wind Rises.” A Ghibli sweet treat : bean paste sandwiched between castella cakes! The milk bottles evoke a Showa-era feel! We’ve arrived at the Orion Theater in the video exhibition room! Animated short films are screened here, and one of the great attractions is the opportunity to encounter works that can only be seen here. “Arrietty’s Room ” is an experiential exhibit that recreates the world of “The Secret World of Arrietty.” Scenes such as “The House Under the Floor and the Dwarf’s Garden” are
immersive, making you feel as if you are walking through Arrietty’s perspective. In the Dwarf’s Garden, everyday scenery such as giant leaves, morning dew, and sugar cubes can be seen with great impact from Arrietty’s perspective. You can feel the echoes of the story even in small details that you might otherwise overlook. The meticulous production will make you feel a quiet emotion that will undoubtedly relax your mind. This is a special exhibition that will give you an immersive experience that you can only find at Ghibli Park . Candy Store Corner A spot that will bring back childhood memories! A model shop that recreates the world of the works in 3D A bookstore that lets you experience the source of Ghibli works Take a break while eating sweets purchased at a candy store You can feel like you’ve entered the world of the movies just by walking around Ghibli’s famous scene
exhibition This is an interactive exhibition area in the center of the large warehouse, and recreates the scene from “Spirited Away” where you ride the train alongside No-Face The pale background changes are fantastic This is the most popular spot, and even on weekdays there are queues of 30 minutes to an hour to wait In the exhibit from “Porco Rosso” a duel scene is recreated You can actually immerse yourself in the famous scene by posing as if you’re being blown away after being hit or preparing a counter punch “Castle in the Sky” *Exhibits have currently been changed. The scene where Sheeta is rescued from the fortress, which is in chaos due to the rampage of robot soldiers. The famous scene at the beginning of the film, “Pazu embraces Sheeta as she falls from the sky.” Anyone who knows the film can immerse themselves in this heartwarming moment, which is only possible at Ghibli Park. “Pom Poko” The tanukis gather around a map for a strategy meeting *Exhibits have currently been changed. “From Up on Poppy Hill” “Ponyo on the Cliff” The scene where Ponyo and Sosuke run on the waves “Tales of Earthsea” “Princess Mononoke” The scene where Ashitaka returns his head to the Forest Spirit When Marnie Was There The Wind Rises You can “play” yourself and take photos in famous scenes from each Ghibli film. Travel by free in-park bus. “Dondoko Forest” is a soothing area surrounded by nature within Ghibli Park. It is located a little away from the center of the park. Walking through the forest and along the footpath, you can feel the leisurely flow of time. The highlight of the museum is the “Satsuki and Mei’s House” from “My Neighbor Totoro.” From the exterior to the interior, everything has been meticulously crafted to faithfully recreate rural life in the 1950s . The building is made up of two wings : the main house with a tiled roof and a Western-style extension with distinctive glass windows. The main house is filled with features that evoke life at the time, such as a dirt floor, a living room with a low table, a Buddhist altar room, and a veranda. The kitchen has a firewood-burning hearth and a well for drawing water. There is a Goemon bath, a pit toilet , and even Satsuki’s school bag . Small items are placed inside the drawers, so you can look around like you’re exploring. The details that give the house a sense of everyday life have also been carefully recreated. Come out, Makkuro Kurosuke! The Western-style extension features a glass-windowed study, complete with the desk and bookshelf the father used in the film, allowing visitors to feel the passage of time. A quiet, nostalgic space emerges at the end of a forest path. Experience the leisurely flow of time surrounded by nature. Climbing Dondoko -do Hill, you’ll find a large wooden Totoro . Children can enter Totoro’s belly and play inside. This building, wrapped in the warmth of wood, truly embodies the Ghibli world, which coexists with nature. After fully enjoying the Ghibli worldview, we headed home and ate misonikomi udon noodles at Nagoya Station. This Nagoya trip provided a moment of peace at the hotel, a delicious meal, and an experience of experiencing the world of Ghibli. It was a trip that allowed us to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and calm our minds . I hope this article helps you plan your Nagoya trip! See you again next time!
