72 hours in Tokyo travel vlog | Shibuya, Harajuku, Ginza, Akihabara

I just landed in Hanada and we’re
going to go see Amber in about an hour. She already booked a reservation for an
Izakaya somewhere in Tokyo. We’ll see. *Amber actually lives in Kawasaki, south of Tokyo* *Here she is!* (Chinese) The weather is so breezy (Chinese) Yeah (Chinese) But why are there so many people standing on the street? (Chinese) They probably belong to the street Just got my cigarette. Apparently, it’s level one,
so it’s like the lowest one, the lightest one. *Amber is calling her friend while I smoke* (Chinese) Oh, so you’re smoking for real (Chinese) Wow (Chinese) How do you feel? (Chinese) You’re not really smoking. (Chinese) You need to inhale. (Chinese) Feels like a seggs worker in Flushing, NY All these years finally understand my dad. *Failed to be a bad b!tch* It is 3 a.m. in the morning. Had a really
good time with my good friend Amber. And more importantly, I smoked my first cigarette. It tastes amazing. And the moment I start inhaling, I think I finally understand my dad
and his obsession with smoking because for just one second, you can just forget about all the troubles. And I don’t know, smoking also feels cool. I don’t know, it’s a very special memory of mine growing up inhaling the secondhand smoke from my dad. I used to hate it. Now I kind of understand it and I kind of miss it. I don’t think I’ll smoke more in the future. It’s a good experience and I’m glad that I tried it. Morning. It is almost 9 a.m. Only slept for 5 or 6 hours. I don’t know. Just going to get ready and going to go out with Amber
and we’re going to go to Tokyo together. *Getting some quick breakfast* *This frozen smoothie looks so cool* *The machine will blend the smoothie in the grab-n-go cup* *Arriving at Shibuya* *It was more than 100F that day, so hot* *First stop: Tower Records* *Getting a Hitaru Utada record after watching First Love the Netflix series* *You can listen to new records in old-fashioned way* *On our way to Hirajuku* *Arriving a glasses store called Jin* *The eye exam is free if you buy the glasses* *The wait time for the glasses is usually an hour after the eye exam* *Picking up now* Oh, nice. just got out of the store. You don’t even have
to interact with anyone once you get back to the store. Uh you can just go to a pickup locker and scan the QR code and get your glasses. Like super easy, super quick, super automated.
And on top of that, this is how much I’ve spent today on the glasses. It’s less than
$50. Warby Parker, your days are numbered. *We’re at The Bellwood, Asia’s top 50 Bar* *Amber got a Pina Colada-inspired drink* (Chinese) Cheers! Oh. Oh. It tastes like tomato juice like all bloody
mary does. But it has a little bit of like spiciness to it. Tanginess. Two drinks in and we are back at Shibuya Crossing again. One thing I have to say is that you can see so many hot guys and girls At Shibuya crossing and adjacent areas. And it’s not just like their face card or
their body card. It’s more about how their vibe is overall and that reflects on their fashion
taste as well as the mood that they’re in. Everyone looks very high-spirited and
willing to walk 20,000 steps a day. Well, maybe they have their own stuff to deal with, but at least right now the weather is good, the drinks are affordable, the fashion clothing are also accessible at the moment. So what’s not to like *Meeting a friend at a Yakitori place* *We got so many skewers, this is only the first round* *Desert is grilled sweet potato, which tastes like Creme Brulee* *Getting some tea and coffee* Just got a yuzu iced tea. See how
it tastes. Let me blend it first. I’m not going to lie, it is kind of
sweet. But the good thing is you can taste so much yuzu slices and little
dice at the bottom of the tea. So it kind of mix up with the tea flavor
at the top. It’s very summery drink. I really wish the Starbucks in the US can just
listen to what the other international stores have to offer and maybe I don’t know have a
popup or something. This feels so fresh. Oh my god. Yeah. The more you drink it, the more the tea blend starts blending
with the yuzu, which is really nice. Good morning. Amber has gone to work. It is Monday, so it’s just going to be me solo I don’t have much of a plan besides going to
Ginza and do some more shopping. And maybe we will go to a post office to send some postcards. And other than that, I don’t have much agenda. I don’t know. We’ll see what happens today. *Arriving at Ginza* *First stop, Uniqlo flagship store* We’re now going to the post office to
send some postcards and see how it goes. *Writing my postcards to friends* *Attaching the stamp myself* Took me a minute, but we’re finally here. Look at those Gasha. My god. This
is my paradise. This is my Shangri-la. Y’all look at this. I am obsessed with
this gasha. You can get little building collections. You can get little
tea collection right here. You can get food collection. I think most likely I’m going to get the food. Oh my god, it’s a tea set. Look at the Let me
show you. There’s the tea. There’s the cup. And there’s the little
brush. I love this. Love, love, love, love this. Hope I’m not going to get demonetized for this, but you can’t say you’ve gone to been to Japan unless you’ve seen the big ****ed-girls. Like, it’s so explicit. *Wandering in Bic Camera in Akihabara* *Checking out mechanical keyboards* It is the evening traffic rush and I’m going to Shibuya to meet Amber who is going to be off from work soon. Last dinner. Last dinner before
I head back. Tomorrow we have lunch. Yes, we will. But tonight is about barbecue.
It’s about meat. It’s about protein. *Cooking some beef tongue first* So juicy *Then a giant steak* (Japanese) Thank you so much *The staff will cut the steak after it’s cooked* Oh my god. so juicy Steak as soft as salmon, grilled
salmon. It is so juicy and the flavors are so marinated. And you can
taste the quality of the meat. So good. *Wandering back home after a long day* So apparently Amber has
some extra labubu. All right. Oh my god. Okay. Your first labubu.
Yeah. I never had a labubu before. She has the same labubu apparently I’m at the airport right now. Can’t believe it’s
only been less than 72 hours, but I have to say it has been an amazing experience in Tokyo. Um, this is my quite first time traveling solo here and I’m so glad to have caught up with my college friend and more importantly, you know, allowing myself to finally relax for a little bit. I would go back
to Tokyo in a heartbeat. There’s so many things to do, so many great restaurants to eat, so many amazing boutique shops and designer stores to go visit. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s always
good to see these clothes in person and try out different things. I think that’s basically it. So thank you all for watching this and hopefully there’s another Japan vlog or a new vlog in
other places coming up soon. We’ll see. Bye.

Was passing by Tokyo for a little more than 72 hours, but the trip was so much fun!
