STUNNING Japanese Cherry Blossom tree in Hakodate 🇯🇵 (Goryōkaku Fort)

Japan, stop being so beautiful. Good afternoon and welcome back to our channel. We are Sam and Nick and we are doing an epic cherry blossom journey across Japan. Today we’re in Hakodate and we are at probably the most amazing cherry blossoms we’ve ever seen. So, if you’re new here, make sure you hit that subscribe button so you join us on this epic journey through Japan and the rest of the world. Close your eyes. Get out of your skin. All it is matters. Let it in. If I could, I would be right here with you. Let’s go. [Music] Good morning and welcome to the most beautiful place I think I’ve ever been to in my entire life. We are at Goryokaku Fort, which is an ancient fort, but it is planted with hundreds, maybe even thousands of cherry blossom trees. And we are here at the peak time. And this weekend is a holiday weekend, so everyone is out just having a great time. Everyone’s in a great mood. This is amazing. We just walked in. And we haven’t even gone into the fort yet. I seriously cannot get over this. This is seriously like I feel like I’m on a movie set. If you look over this way, there are just like hundreds of trees with white cherry blossoms. And what’s even more like amazing is that the petals are falling off. So there are just like petals of cherry blossoms just flowing in the air with the blue sky. Pinch me. This is real life. The cherry blossoms have multiple stages. The first stage is like these bright pink cherry blossoms. Once they hit full bloom, they turn into these white flowers. And the white flowers literally look like it’s snowing everywhere. It’s absolutely beautiful. [Music] It is seriously so picturesque all over this entire park that we have been here for like 3 hours and have barely covered anything cuz all we’re doing is taking photos and videos. It is we’ve just never seen anything like this. And it is so picturesque literally everywhere you turn. [Music] [Music] Do you see that? I just I need to bring you here. Come look at this. Oo, that’s steep. Do you see this? Literally, everyone is out today. Like, everyone’s in a good mood. Everyone is happy. But the leaves are starting to come off. So, we’re here at the perfect time. We were told here in Hakadate, they don’t bloom for more than a couple days. So, we are super lucky. We’re here on the perfect weekend. And it’s a holiday. The cherry blossoms are so beautiful, but also the little yellow daisies that are starting to pop up because the weather is starting to go from really cold to pretty warm. Today is 76 degrees Fahrenheit and it feels like a spring day and all the flowers are coming up. This is magnificent. Wow. It’s like the only word I can think of that comes to mind right now. Look at the cherry. This is absolutely crazy. Japan. We’re in a movie right now. There’s no way this is real. Japan might be one of the most beautiful countries. Like this is I think it is. This is crazy. Wow. We are here at the end of April, April 27th. I think it blooms differently every year, but I think around this time in Hakadate is when they typically bloom. [Music] So, Gorio Kaku Fort is really famous from the 1800s and on. Part of what makes it really famous is that it is in the shape of a star and that was for for like battle purposes and safety purposes. I guess it was to like trick out the the foes, the Russians who they were trying to fight against. And it is for like having no blind sides. That’s what we’ve heard about this fort. But the other thing that this fort is famous for are the thousands of cherry blossoms. And so a lot of people come here every April so that they can see the cherry blossoms because Hakodate is actually in the northern island, the northern part of Japan. The cherry blossoms bloom quite a bit later than the rest of the country and it is remarkably beautiful. All [Music] right, we have been meandering for hours now. So, we’re going to start heading back to the front. We’re in the back. We’re going to work our way back to the front where everyone was hanging out, eating, and drinking. We’re hoping to get a beer. I don’t know if people brought their own beer or like what that situation was, but it looked like you can rent like an area to like make food and whatnot. So, we’re going to see what that situation is like because we’re very hungry and that sounds like a lot of fun right now. So, if you can plan to come here on this holiday weekend because everyone’s out having a good time. [Music] Okay, I think we missed it. Huge bummer. They were selling beer, but it was alcohol-free beer. I don’t want alcohol free. So, I wondered if all the beer here was alcohol free. I don’t really know. But looks like everything’s packed up. Everyone’s starting to leave. But we’re going to go to the top of the tower first. We’re going to check the price. If it’s too expensive, we’re not going to do it. But I want to show you how amazing this fort is. And I can only imagine with all the the trees that we just walked through how beautiful it is. So, let’s go check that out. I seriously have no idea where the line even ends so we can stand there. This is absolutely insane. I don’t know if we have the patience for this right now. There are hundreds if not thousands of people trying to get to the top. Okay, we found the end of the line. There was a guy that’s holding a sign saying end of the line. That’s how long the line is. I don’t know. I don’t think we’re going to do it. So, here’s a photo from Google. Quite spectacular, right? Oh, man. That was so beautiful. We decided we’re not going to do the tower. Although, if you come here, you definitely should, but maybe do it first before you go into the park. I think we learned our lesson. And if you come here and everyone’s hanging out, eating, definitely do that first as well. This video was intended to do all of Hakad, but it ended up being so beautiful it became its own video. So, we’re going to end the video here, and we’re actually going to start another video right now. We’re going to go down to the another park where there’s supposedly all locals and there’s more cherry blossoms and the observatory and explore more of Hakodate and potentially eat something delicious. Actually definitely going to eat something delicious. But thanks for sticking around with us today. We hope you enjoyed this video as much as we enjoyed making the video. If you can ever find the time to come to Goryoku Fort for cherry blossom season, I highly recommend it. I think it was one of the most beautiful things we have ever experienced. It was quite magical the whole thing. But thanks for sticking around with us today. If you like this video, please give it a like. If we missed anything or should have done something else, let us know in the comments. Hit that subscribe button if you want to continue with us along our adventures. We still have so many more videos of Japan. Thanks for sticking around with us today. And until next time, we’ll see you on the go. Click on my face. It’s not very good. You can’t really see it. We need to go. We are in Gory Gory Goro. Beth zoomed in, but try and come. What’s the holiday called? So, Gorio Kaku, if you can ever come to Hakadate and the Goro Goro Yaku Goro Goro Goro Goryako. No. And if you can ever come to this fort for cherry blossoms, you absolutely need to because Gorioaku, don’t look down. He’s in my I my He my He my He my He my He my life.

Welcome to the most beautiful place to see the cherry blossom tree in all of Japan! We got to Hakodate fort called Goryōkaku at literally peak cherry blossom day! We were in absolute awe by how stunningly beautiful this place was and we definitely recommend you make a stop here.

Not only were the cherry blossoms totally beautiful, but we really enjoyed the city of Hakodate and will be publishing a video all about the city coming up in the next episode!
