Pacific League Nippon-Ham 10-4 Orix (11th, ES CON FIELD)
Nippon-Ham Fighters manager Tsuyoshi Shinjo revealed the condition of batting coach Yagi, who is currently hospitalized after being hit directly in the head by a bat.
“He seemed fine, but he wasn’t sleeping well,” he said. He said he gave him a tablet so he could watch the video, though he wasn’t sure if he would be able to see it. He also revealed that he brought him some gifts, including Salonpas, a ball-shaped acupressure pad for his lower back, and pajamas.
Regarding the conversation about the team, he seemed relieved, saying, “They asked me who the batting coach was, so I tried it out and said, ‘Um, who was it? Not Sato-kun, not Oda-kun,’ wondering what kind of answer I would get. I said, ‘Ah, Yokoo?’ so they said, ‘Oh, it’s okay (laughs). I was conscious.”
