Visiting Japan in Fall ? Must Know Travel Tips for 2025
Hello friends, I’m having today. The autumn is coming just around the corner. It’s still really green and very hot, but soon everything will change to the whole foliage. It’s definitely the best season to come to Japan. It’s a it’s very easy weather to walk around and it’s also lots of events and good foods. But it can be a little bit difficult to planning because it can be the day gets shorter suddenly and it can be colder. So in this video I’d like to talk about travel tips video for travelers coming to Japan in autumn. It’s a very nice summer day. It’s a warm holiday and there’s nobody which is the best part of this and also lots of beautiful greens and soon it will change to autumn in two months or one month. So I like to enjoy this greenery and hope you can enjoy together. The autumn is a great season for the festival too and there are lots of different events. For example, something you can see easily in Tokyo is the Hikawa shrines in Akataka festival and also there’s a cargo festival in October. In other parts of Japan, Takama’s autumn festival is also very famous one. Autumn and fall is definitely the best time for the autumn leaves and you can autumn colors. Autumn forest start in northern and mountain areas in late September and mainly early October and usually in Kyoto and Tokyo is from mid November and moved south by late November to early December because uh so last year I went to last year I went to uh uh Na and ah there’s a scanner there scanner I’d like to go to help with that. Their life is short anyway. to last year. I went out pine loot and uh Canazawa and Toyama in November, mid November and in I saw mutual foliage in Canazawa and I think Toyama was a little bit late and al most of them was finished and in early December I went to Kyoto and Nara and it was just so beautiful. Please see my if you are interested in please see uh another videos Kyoto I went back after a few days but it already finished. So I think it’s very I think it can change a lot in a few days. So autumn forage is usually in the mountain area it can be October and uh in the city it can be late November to early December. And something very important is uh if you go to Kamikoi or Alpine, they only open until someday in the November. So they close after that. So it’s something you want want to check with the mountains uh kind of bus route and roses depends on the place what day they cross. If you go there in the late November, for example, kamikot is not opal anymore. Autumn is also the best season for the hood. The mushrooms and grapes and pear honashi in Japanese is everything is tastes very good in autumn. Something you might want to be careful is in autumn the daylight gets much shorter. For example, in like a early July, the sun set around 700 p.m. But in December, it can be around 5:00 p.m. So have like a 2 hours shorter bright afternoon. So something you do is a little limited. If you stay in the city, it’s okay, but if you go to the countryside or mountain, especially, you might want to make sure you start the day early so you can enjoy more. Also, if in case you do like hiking, it can be quite dangerous that you thought it’s kind of maybe more bright until 7, but it can be actually really dark. You can’t do much. So, I strongly recommended to start the day early, but it also make it easy to see the illuminations as it gets dark earlier in late November sometimes and usually early December when Christmas or holiday illumination starts. So you can enjoy lots of illumination festivals and illumination events across the cities and something changes in winter. It’s not just a day get shorter and it can be pretty much colder and something it’s a season you need to be careful about the attire and what to bring or what to pack in your suitcases. in September from now to September early October is a typhoon season and as the typhoon comes cold air also start to comes and winter start to visit. So sometimes it’s very important that uh make sure depends on where you go. It’s very important to uh bring the lots of clothes for the cold season and then when it gets start to cold it’s usually depends on where you go but in September it can be very cold already in the mountain area and October is kind of mid-season people stop kind of shortive in the city and from November usually kind of winter clothes is a is better late November or early December it starts to snow in the northern Japan or mountain regions and usually in the snowing area late December it’s pretty much covered in snow. So it’s also you can enjoy the season you can enjoy the skiing and snowboarding but in case you are going to drive you might want to be careful in case you have a deservation of the dukan or hotels it’s good idea to contact the hotel and ask them because they know very well about the weather of the local and access of there you know autumn can be also a very busy season. So, so for example, hotel can be very busy and it can be really difficult to get also very expensive. So, if you have a plan to go certain places and if you already have a schedule set, you may want to make sure that you book early. Today is actually very cool, nice day for summer. It’s like how summer used to be, very beautiful, green. I hope all summer is like this. So, thank you for watching. I hope you come up with a great autumn travel plans and prepare well for the autumn trip. It’s definitely the best season and you can have a amazing easygoing time in Japan. Thank you for watching. Have a great trip to Japan. to the next video. So, as the autumn travel season is coming, I’m making some type of tips videos. Mean uh meanwhile, I postpone a little bit of Tokyo walks video and vlogs from different parts of Japan, but definitely I’ll go back to there and definitely I’d like to go back there in mid autumn. And meanwhile, I hope you can enjoy travel tips video in different topics, especially if you’re visiting Japan for the first time. I’m sure it will be a helpful and interesting. Thank you for watching. Have a great trip to Japan.

Good night Kenchan san
I'll watch this in the morning 😊
Great tips for a fall visit. Will be traveling to Japan next year to visit friends and family. Can’t wait 😻🌸🪭🌺🦋
Thanks for the tips, Kengo-san. I will be back in Japan again in early November and have recently booked a couple of ryokan stays in the Tohoku region. Looking forward to see the autumn foliage there.
I hope you have a great week ahead!
💚🧡❤️
Great video. Do you have any tips to find out what attractions have a night lighting events? 10 years ago, I remember the tourist information centre's (especially in Kyoto) would have an event pamphlet with this information, but I could not find these last year 🙁
Excellent video and so many great tips for a fall visit, thank you!
Another excellent video sir. We hope to visit in 2027.
Amazing video as always. So helpful. I'll be coming to Japan in the Autumn (Fall) season this year. It will be my third time but, the first for my sister. I want to make sure she enjoys it and gets to experience a lot of amazing things whilst we are there. This video has been so helpful for that. Many thanks. 😌
My last trips to Tokyo in September 2023 and 2024 had unbearable heat and humidity. Since you said that the weather is pleasant in your video, I'm hopeful this September will be as nice
Autumn is my favourite season to travel to Japan 😅. Last year, I visited Takayama, Kamikochi. This year, I will be visiting Hiroshima and Matsuyama via Hakata JR and Fukuoka airport, respectively. Can't wait to go back Japan again.
What are your thoughts about Nikko and Kamakura in the first week of December?
Ohiyo Gozaimas Kenchan san

Will be coming to Nigata Sendai or Sapporo Asahikawa in late September to mid October
All depends on the weather

Arigato 😊
I see you are walking around Shinjuku again. Fall is my favorite season and I'll be there in November to photograph the koyo and enjoy the foods of autumn.
Going late November so this video is perfect for me!
There's a lot of news about bear attacks in HOKKAIDO.
Might not be a good idea to visit in September
😢
I will visit in November!
Do you think this early November will be „hotter“ than usually? It is so hot in Tokyo for a Long time at the moment…
Oh I am going to Kamikochi in mid Oct, I won't be able to see full foilage then :.( It seems like due to global warming, cherry blossom bloom earlier and autumn arrives later…
I’ll be staying in Arashiyama on 22nd November. Do you think it’s going to be full of colours there?
As always, very practical and important information comoi g from your channel. Thank you for sharing 👍
