In Japan, a pilot's intoxication led to the cancellation of 630 passenger flights.

The incident at Japan Airlines (JAL) caused serious objections in civil aviation. Due to the pilot’s irresponsible attitude to his duties, three flights were delayed by 18 hours, which caused great inconvenience to passengers who were clearly scheduled for flights.

The incident occurred at Honolulu International Airport in Hawaii and was detected before the Boeing 787 flight to Chubu International Airport (NGO). According to the investigation results, the flight captain admitted to being unfit for service due to alcohol consumption. For this reason, the flight of a total of 630 passengers was delayed, causing them great inconvenience.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan issued an official warning to JAL for this violation. The president of the airline, Mitsuko Tottori, apologized to the public and announced that the system of health control of crew members will be further strengthened in order to prevent such negative situations in the future.

The pilot who committed the violation was fired, and the issue was resolved in full compliance with the company’s internal regulations and aviation safety standards. The incident once again confirmed the importance of passenger safety and responsibility in aviation.
