First limited edition McLaren to be offered only in Japan

McLaren today unveiled the 750S JC96, a limited edition 750S that celebrates the British brand’s motorsport exploits in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The idea for the 750S JC96 was inspired by the McLaren F1 GTRs that competed in the 1996 All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC). Only 61 will be available to buy, a nod to the number 61 car shared by John Neilsen and David Brabham that won the Driver’s Championship.

Available as a coupe or Spider, the 750S JC96 is the first limited edition McLaren to be offered only in Japan and wears a livery inspired by the Team Goh F1 GTRs that competed in the 1996 JGTC campaign. The ‘Tiger Stripe’ design blends Rocket Pink and Tarmac Grey paintwork, although buyers can also customise their own with colour choices like Memphis Red, Titanium Silver, Ice White and Graphite Grey.

Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Automotive, said: “The 750S JC96 is our love letter to McLaren in Japan. Our Japanese clients demand track-inspired performance but without compromising on the tailor-made personalisation and attention to detail that truly makes a McLaren their McLaren.

Powering the 750S JC96 edition is the same 740bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 seen on the standard version.
