OSAKA HIDDEN GEMS

🚋 Just one quick train ride from Osaka Castle, you’ll find yourself at Tenma Market. Step inside and the atmosphere shifts— you’re no longer in a tourist zone, but in the middle of everyday Osaka life. Stalls are lined with colorful fruits and vegetables, the scent of fresh seafood fills the air, and locals weave through the narrow aisles picking up groceries for tonight’s dinner. It’s not flashy, it’s not staged— this is the Osaka that residents know and love. As a foodie, it’s exciting to see where the ingredients from restaurant tables come from! Chatting and bargaining with the friendly vendors is one of the best parts of the experience, and before you know it, you’ve bought way more than planned! 😅✨ What makes Temma Market even more special is its location. Step outside the market and you’ll find yourself right at the entrance of Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street— a lively 2.6 km arcade packed with shops, eateries, and local energy. 🍣 Our first stop is Harukoma, a popular local sushi joint famous for its big portions and affordable prices. There’s always a long line, but since we arrived just before lunch, we only waited about 20 minutes before getting seated. ⏳ The tuna sashimi was absolutely fantastic, especially for the price! 🐟👌 The other sushi was decent, but the portions were huge, and the price was definitely right. But the red miso soup with clams? That absolutely stole the show! 🍲 Packed with fresh clams, it was rich, flavorful, and totally satisfying! 😋✨ After our sushi feast, we explored Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, the longest covered shopping street in Japan. 🎭 The area is best known for Osaka Tenmangu Shrine and the famous Tenjin Matsuri festival held in summer. The lively street is lined with shops selling everything from groceries and clothes to books, shoes, and snacks. 🛍️ Tenjinbashi-suji is our favorite spot in Osaka! ❤️🏯 This shopping street exudes a neighborhood charm, where locals go about their daily shopping, yet there are plenty of hidden gems and bargains for visitors to discover. 🥡 Food lovers will be in heaven with endless choices— from savory street food to traditional Japanese dishes. Whether you’re craving a quick snack or a hearty meal, it’s easy to get lost in the incredible flavors of Osaka here. With so many options, it would take months to try them all! 😋🍢
