The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) has successfully concluded its 2025 Japan Roadshow series in Australia, attracting 360 travel industry professionals across Sydney and Melbourne.

The trade-focused networking events, expertly coordinated by Linkd Tourism on behalf of JNTO, took place on 25 to 26 August 2025, providing Australian travel agents and industry professionals with access to Japan’s leading tourism suppliers.

“The response from the Australian travel trade has been outstanding,” JNTO Sydney executive director, Naoki Kitazawa, said.

“Japan has become a very popular destination, as evidenced by the success of this event, and Australia is projected to achieve the historic milestone of one million annual visitors. Japanese suppliers and stakeholders wholeheartedly welcome Australian travellers.”

“With 360 attendees across both Sydney and Melbourne, we’ve seen great enthusiasm for Japan as a destination,” JNTO Sydney business development and senior assistant market manager, Harriett Bougher, said.

“The direct connections made between our suppliers and Australian agents will undoubtedly strengthen business relationships moving forward and encourage Australians to travel more to beautiful off the beaten track destinations in Japan.”

The events featured an exhibition-style format that allowed attendees to engage one-on-one with all 49 exhibitors throughout the evening. Traditional Japanese cultural elements elevated the experience, with authentic ikebana flower arrangements creating an elegant atmosphere and live koto performances providing the soundtrack to the networking sessions.

Event highlights:

Sydney: Monday 25 August, Doltone House Hyde Park

Guests enjoyed authentic Japanese cuisine while gathering information about Japan. The events reinforced Japan’s position as “a land of unlimited experiences and sensations.” A highlight of both evenings was the grand prize draw, with return flights to Japan awarded to lucky winners who were present at each event. Gill Sher of Spencer Travel and Tayla Garrett from Flight Centre claimed the coveted prize at each venue.
