$40 Overnight Ferry: Osaka to Fukuoka (12.5 Hours) 🇯🇵 Hankyu Ferry Hibiki
Today’s video is… Hello everyone 👋 This is Taiyaki 🐟 Right now, I’m in Izumiotsu, Osaka. This time, I’ll be taking a ferry, and the bus to the port departs from this station. The bus stop is at the west exit. The stop is just past the police station. Here’s the shuttle bus stop for the ferry I’m taking today. This heart-shaped object is a landmark (though it might not be permanent). This sheep statue looks like it’ll be here forever. Use this as your landmark. Here’s what the other exit looks like. There’s a McDonald’s, a donut shop, and some café, so if you want to kill time, this side is probably better. Time to get on the bus. I bought some drinks and stuff By the way, the bus is free from this station. I can see the ship now. It takes about 10 minutes from the station. Here’s the Hankyu Ferry terminal for today’s trip. The ferry I’m taking is called *Hibiki*. The clouds look delicious. 😏 Alright, let’s head inside. The Expo mascot, *Myakumyaku*. I booked online and already have a QR code, so I don’t need to check in here. Convenient! The waiting area. Just show the QR code and board the bus. This moment right before boarding the ferry is always exciting 😂 For now, let’s head to the room first. This time I’m staying in a shared sleeping room, so I’m a little nervous 😢 Here’s the room. It’s non-reserved seat, so you can choose anywhere. Each space has a locker and an outlet. It looks clean, but the carpet have a few stains. There’s bedding inside the locker. The pillow is super thin 😂 The blanket. The futon mattress—it’s really thin 😂 The locker is fairly large, so you can store a good amount of luggage. You lock it with a 100-yen coin (which gets returned afterwards). I’ll make the bed first. For now, I’m the only one here. Looking at it like this, the bed really is paper-thin 😂 Now I’m out on the deck. There are tables and chairs on deck. A design I’ve never seen before. Large trucks are also boarding. It’s kinda scary. Without the container attached, the trucks look kinda cute 🤭 On this ship, the middle area of the deck is fenced off and off-limits. It’s departure time. 👋 Goodbye, Osaka. It’s cloudy so I can’t see much today, but the Expo site is around here. Shall we head back inside? Here’s the restaurant. Opening hours. This restaurant isn’t buffet-style—you just pick what you want and pay. There’s a good variety, and lots of tasty-looking dishes. I got grilled pork with miso and rice (around 1000 yen). Here’s the pork. Pig on the Sea The miso-flavored pork goes perfectly with the rice. They even have made-to-order dishes, so for a ferry restaurant this is pretty impressive. And they accept card payments too. Pure bliss. Back to the room. Looks like I’m the only one tonight after all. By the way, in my last video I said I bought some Expo goods—it was actually socks. Surprisingly, someone guessed it correctly in the comments! Amazing!! 😳🥰 They’re a bit small, but I can still wear them, so it’s fine. I also bought an item that lets you “become Myakumyaku.” Full Myakumyaku transformation complete. Even Mr.bird got Myakumyaku-nized. 🤭 Late-night snack: Kororo gummies. I love gummies in general, but I especially like Kororo for its texture. Highly recommended. There’s Wi-Fi on board, but it didn’t work in my room. Even in the lobby, it was about 230kbps, so you can only send messages. At least Abe Hiroshi’s website loads at that speed. Here’s the shop. They’ve got lots of original ferry character goods. They even sell towels. And I just realized I forgot to bring one… The cheapest one is 300 yen. Might want to buy it. They also sell snacks, drinks, and ice cream. What surprised me was they also sell hot snacks and bread. Never seen that on a ferry before. They take credit cards and IC payment too. I found something interesting. In Japan, you call 110 for the police, but at sea it’s 118. If I spot any sketchy deals going down at sea, I’ll report them! I’ll film and introduce the rest of the ship tomorrow when there are fewer people around. Before sleeping, here’s a clip of us passing under a bridge. This is the Seto Ohashi Bridge. Connecting Kurashiki City in Okayama Prefecture and Sakaide City in Kagawa Prefecture on Shikoku. Unfortunately, it’s not illuminated, so it’s hard to see clearly on the screen… It might be right if you watch it at 2x speed. Other people also seem to be having fun 😆. After all, everyone enjoys passing under the bridge when they’re on a ferry haha. Today was a tough day, so I’m tired. I’m going to get ready for bed now. The privilege of having my own space. Good night 😴. In this room, the lights go out at 10 pm (not so in private rooms). I woke up after about two hours of sleep, so I filmed another bridge. This bridge is the Kurushima Kaikyō Bridge. But again, it’s not lit up, so it’s hardly visible. When it’s bright, it looks like this. It’s not much fun if you can’t see well. There’s someone dancing over there. That old man is probably practicing his dance. Good morning. Since there were many people yesterday, I couldn’t film and show you some areas, so I’ll check them out now. First, this is the shop. It’s right near the entrance. We saw this yesterday. Close by, there are vending machines and a microwave. Not only drinks but ice cream and cup noodles are also sold here. Hot water comes from here. The prices are reasonable, like in convenience stores. Lockers. They’re quite deep. Commemorative stamp. The Hankyu Ferry character is cute. Hehe. Arrived at the 6th floor. Here is the restaurant we saw earlier. There are sofas too. The rooms here are private with locks. I’m jealous. Vending machines. Alcohol is available, but purchase hours are limited. Toilet and washing area. The toilet has a washlet. 7th floor. This is the top floor. There is a bath here. Men’s bath and on the opposite side is the women’s bath. Be careful, bath hours are fixed. Photography is prohibited ofcourse, so I borrowed images from the official site. Honestly, it’s not this sparkly, but it was clean and nice. Above all, I was surprised they had an open-air bath. Wonderful! There are rooms on the 7th floor too, probably suites. I’ll do my best to stay in a suite on this channel too! Lol There’s a smoking room here. That’s all for the ship tour. I came outside. It’s too early in the morning and still dark, so I can’t see anything. I think this is Ube City in Yamaguchi Prefecture. If I fell into this sea now, I’d definitely die. While thinking that, I spotted a dragonfly. I thought it was dead, but it moved. Maybe it was just sleeping. Sorry. Back inside the ship, breakfast bread was ready. I wonder if they bake the bread on the ship? It looked good, so I bought a walnut bread, a croissant, and coffee. Walnut bread. It’s okay. The croissant had a buttery flavor and was good. It all cost about 600 yen, so maybe I could have had a Japanese-style breakfast instead. Well, eating bread on a ferry isn’t bad either 👍. It’s almost time to disembark. Don’t forget to get your coin back when you return the locker key. I was the only one in my room this time, so it was quite comfortable. There were a few people using this room when I looked earlier. My room smelled a bit moldy, so maybe no one wanted to use it haha. Docking. stop it! (I am enjoying the thrill) Well then, let’s get off. But my stomach started hurting, so I’m going to the restroom before disembarking. The bus departs right after disembarking, so I’m panicking since I can’t just sit in the restroom. If I miss it, I’ll have no way to get to the station!! By the way, when reserving, you must select if you want to use the bus for both boarding and disembarking. Phew. Safely boarded. I felt a little thrill haha. There’s power outlets. No restroom. Departure shortly after disembarking. 14, 15, 16… The bus goes to Moji Station, then via Sunatsu to the final stop Kokura Station. Arriving at Kokura Station. If you board at Kokura Station, this seems to be the boarding spot. After going upstairs, I realized the place is the same spot from the retired ferry video I uploaded before. That’s all for this video. Thank you for watching until the end. Hello my friend I enjoyed the video thank you ❤
Colorful cute socks 😊 I loved the video ❤ But I agree, you deserve a private room on these ships. That must've been hard on your back considering how thin that mattress was plus the slightly moldy smell 😂😂😂
I really enjoyed this one. Keep up the great work! ❤
