A Day in Nara Park π¦π―π΅ | Japan Travel Experience with Our Guide Billy
A day in the life as a tour guide here in Japan. Today is day 10 of our Japan Essentials tour. We took the Rapid Express from Aaka to Nara. And looking at the theme of this train, can you take a guess what we’re going to see? So, after 35 minutes, we arrived. And as soon as we step out, the local deers are waiting to say hello. They’re everywhere from wee baby fs staying close to their mother to fully grown bowing males. You just need to be careful of those antlers. After saying hello, we continued towards the temple. Nara Park itself is beautiful, but the Tadai Temple complex is next level. We explored the grounds and of course had to stop for a quick vending machine drink. Picari sweep from a can somehow tastes even better than from the bottle. We then checked out one of Japan’s famous bells known for its long ring before heading up this beautiful staircase to get an amazing view of Nara. We then went inside the Great Buddha Hall, home to the largest indoor bronze Buddha statue. Inside, there’s also a pillar with a small hole that’s supposed to be the same size as Buddha’s nostril. Legend says that if you get through, you’ll be granted health and enlightenment in your next life. Finally, we found a quiet spot to feed some of the deer. They can be a bit greedy, so pro tip, don’t wear your favorite clothes. They might get a little nibble. We took photos, had some laughs, and even tried the deer crackers ourselves. Clearly, myself and the guests were getting hungry. So, to finish off the morning, everyone grabbed ice cream before heading back to a sacka. And that’s it. A morning in the life of a one life adventures tour guide. So, do you think you could squeeze through Buddha’s nostril hole? I’m such a tick tocker. [Music]
