【大阪関西万博】パビリオンランキング30選、3回行って分かった絶対行くべきお勧め!
2 months until the Osaka Expo ends This time I visited the Expo three times and selected 30 pavilions I actually visited First, the top 3 of the 30 selections! Next, 8 recommended overseas pavilions A total of 30 pavilions including 9 corporate pavilions from Japan and 10 pavilions that you can enter without waiting! Here you go! Here is the third place in the Best 3 that was great to see in person! The theme is ‘Resurrection of the Sea,’ conveying the current state of marine pollution issues The pavilion by Jelly Japan consists of three impressive domes In Dome A, there is a giant three-dimensional art piece It expresses the ‘life of water’ and the cycle The way water flows across the water-repellent surface, changing shape, is as if the water is alive! It’s a work of art It’s fascinating to watch as the water ‘breaks down’ into droplets and then comes back together; I could watch it forever! The roof of Dome A is made from laminated bamboo, showing consideration for the environment As you move to Dome B, there’s a spherical theater with a diameter of 10 meters where you can sit and watch the visuals The theme of the video is the ocean! A full CG video of about 7 minutes featuring schools of fish and coral reef ecosystems! The image quality is equivalent to 8K resolution, very beautiful! Only visuals and music There are no words at all! The scene of the ocean being covered in plastic waste is explained without any verbal description It felt more realistic! The depiction of life being born and cells dividing, along with the contrasting images of environmental destruction and the birth of life, had a significant impact! Plastic itself is not the villain The roof of Dome B intentionally uses lightweight and strong carbon fiber reinforced plastic The expression of environmental issues through photos and concise words resonated! Dome C is made from recycled paper tubes, considering environmental aspects while achieving a beautiful dome shape You can sit and watch videos about ocean issues and marine conservation activities, and purchase eco-friendly goods and interesting books! Dome C is open to everyone without a reservation Right behind Gundam Definitely check it out! The second place is the Power Pavilion: Eggs of Possibility! It’s an experiential facility themed around future energy Visitors can receive an egg-shaped device and experience 29 types of energy technologies that teach the history and future of energy in conjunction with visuals You can learn about and experience each type of power generation It was very fun! New power generation! Nuclear fusion power generation! Sound power generation! The egg-shaped device lights up and vibrates, allowing you to record your learning outcomes! After experiencing various power generation methods for about 15 minutes To the next room! We learned about the potential of energy through a video that included challenges! The final room is the ‘Shining Area’ with a fantastic light show featuring LEDs and sound The entire room’s LEDs shine in an impressive show! It’s moving! Seeing it in person is overwhelming! Finally, when you place the egg… Check the number of power generation experiences I experienced seven power generation exhibits! The souvenir corner is also well-stocked! The Power Pavilion, which even Princess Aiko visited, has original goods and gacha machines If you can make a reservation, definitely go! I visited 30 pavilions at the Osaka Expo and it’s my number one Next, 8 selected overseas pavilions First, let’s start with the American Pavilion! ★ The American Pavilion is a very popular pavilion On this day (July 4th), there was a 2-hour wait! But if you go to the entrance, you can enter the English tour preferentially! When I came on May 3rd (the first time), there was only information about the English tour When I came in July… Request regarding the English tour: To participate in the English tour, a high level of English proficiency and comprehension is required! Only those who can fully understand English, including emergency responses, may participate To participate in the English tour, a high level of English proficiency and comprehension is necessary! Confirmation of advanced English proficiency There is nothing like a test, and when I asked the staff, they said, ‘Please participate in the English tour!’ like I should have a TOEIC score of over 900 There is no confirmation that you can understand Hollywood movies without subtitles (You can participate with simple responses.) Consider your own English level and try joining the English tour Not Judge (an American), but Ohtani An astronaut converses with Spark This is a stone from 3.7 billion years ago! Next is the Saudi Arabia Pavilion! After the Osaka Expo 2025, the next expo will be in 2030, five years later… Held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia Looking ahead to the next World Expo, the future city ‘NEOM’ has sustainability as its theme! We were able to see a stage show that took place after 7 PM A vision of the future city NEOM was introduced on a giant screen! It seems that there will be a more detailed introduction of the future city NEOM at the Riyadh Expo in 2030 I’m looking forward to the next World Expo! Finally, I can enjoy Saudi Arabian coffee sweets No alcohol in Islam! There’s a great selection of coffee and dates Yoyakunashi Girls are extremely popular! Inside for real! Cold coffee! The content was also fulfilling! A recreation of the Indonesian rainforest The sounds of birds are realistic too! In the next room, there is a giant screen and sound system Immersive experience of Indonesia’s nature and culture A feeling as if you are in a tropical rainforest This circular exhibition showcases Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara Current capital of Indonesia, Jakarta A new capital named ‘Nusantara’ is under construction in East Kalimantan to solve issues of overcrowding and land subsidence Aiming for a complete relocation and completion by 2045, the 100th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence! Overwhelmed by this grand plan! Next, there will be exhibitions of traditional arts such as batik and gamelan Cafe serving Indonesian cuisine The Indonesian pavilion is spacious and quite well-equipped A must-see! You can enter without a reservation, so definitely check it out! Once you enter the Australian Pavilion, you’ll find a recreated eucalyptus forest with eucalyptus trees lined up Experience the unique natural environment of Australia With the effects of scent, sound, and light, it feels just like taking a forest walk in the actual location I had an immersive experience! When you think of eucalyptus, you think of koalas’ staple food When you go outside, there are many koala goods like koala plush toys As you go further in, you can experience Australia’s great nature through immersive videos of forests, oceans, and night skies, which are truly moving! The theme of the Netherlands Pavilion is ‘Common Ground’ (a shared foundation) to build a sustainable future society Designed as a ‘foundation for co-creation.’ Visitors experience an interactive exhibition where they hold an ‘orb (sphere)’ and progress while making it glow against the wall!! The phrase ‘the world was created by God, but the Netherlands was created by the Dutch’ reflects the fact that about 1/4 of the Netherlands is below sea level Since ancient times, the Netherlands has fought against flooding and expanded its territory through land reclamation projects You can feel the pride of the Dutch people I lived in the Netherlands for six years on a transfer starting in 2010 The Dutch pavilion, which faces nature and coexists with it, was deeply moving! Speaking of the Netherlands, there’s Miffy! There are many Miffy items in the souvenir corner! The last expo in 2020 was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (postponed to 2021 due to COVID) The interior is made up of about 2 million branches of date palms There were exhibits on medical technology and sustainable urban development, but to be honest, they were quite difficult to understand A restaurant serving UAE cuisine featuring camel milk and dates is popular A live performance of traditional music inspired by the traditional wooden boat ‘Dhow’ was held at the Qatar Pavilion designed by Kengo Kuma! The tragedy of Doha, missing out on the World Cup Defeated Germany and Spain The last Qatar tournament was deeply connected to Japan! A fusion of marine resources and cutting-edge technology Introducing the culture rooted in Qatar’s sea, including fishing, the pearl industry, and renewable energy initiatives for the future The final souvenir corner is well-stocked! The theme of the Spain Pavilion is sun, art, and renewable energy, allowing visitors to feel the essence of Spain Honestly, I don’t really understand the meaning Just like the very popular Italian pavilion, it would have been even better if Spain had showcased art prominently, displaying paintings by Picasso, Velázquez, El Greco, and Goya! In the souvenir corner, you can buy red wine from Rioja and sparkling Cava A place where you can enjoy tapas and wine There was quite a long line! The future city has an exhibition area of about 3,300 square meters, one of the largest at the Osaka Expo! A pavilion jointly created by 11 companies including Hitachi, KDDI, IHI, and Kubota! There are many interesting exhibits centered around videos and hands-on experiences that allow you to experience future living, but it feels more like a trade fair or exhibition with participation from various companies rather than a typical expo pavilion (it seems like something that would be held at Tokyo Big Sight) There are so many exhibits that it’s overwhelming; I lined up for Kubota’s ‘Game to Experience Future Agriculture’ but… One game takes more than 20 minutes What kind of crops to plant, the types of future technologies, and the cooperating personnel, etc It takes too long just to set up I have to wait 20 minutes until the previous group finishes, and it takes me 20 minutes too… It takes over 40 minutes! Many people are quitting the line (the content is very good, though) A future city that requires a long time to experience everything It was quite fulfilling It’s unfortunate that the future city is located in a hard-to-reach place far beyond the Wind Plaza, resulting in low recognition Since it’s relatively always empty, it’s a good idea to check out any pavilion if the others are crowded! The International Red Cross Pavilion introduces activities related to disaster, conflict, and medical assistance At the back Cross Theater, activities related to the Gaza Strip and the Great East Japan Earthquake are showcased A video introduction of Red Cross staff On the final message wall, visitors can post their thoughts, which will be displayed on a large screen Passing the baton of thoughts to the next visitor The Red Cross flag displayed at Ishinomaki Red Cross Hospital This Red Cross flag, which was displayed for a month after the Great East Japan Earthquake, symbolizes the Red Cross’s determination to accept all patients, even as it was battered by wind and snow and frayed! In the souvenir corner, Merchandise collaborated with Myakumyaku is popular! EARTH TABLE, one of the future dining establishments It has its main store in Kobe Yoshimoto WARAIi MYRAii Pavilion is a space for laughter and entertainment by Yoshimoto Kogyo, featuring live stages by comedians Inside the laughter-themed objects, there are game center buttons and levers that cannot be operated, and nothing happens when you press them! The giant button… If everyone presses it, something might happen! There is a mysterious button leek on display, and when you get closer, a ‘question’ appears? It’s unclear why it’s a leek An exhibition that feels like a mysterious modern art display featuring actual flying cars from SkyDrive and others Those with reservations can actually get in and take photos! If you don’t have a reservation, you can only view it from the outside, but seeing the flying car in person is breathtaking! It’s a flying car powered by an electric motor, quieter than a helicopter I hope it becomes practical soon! A 1-meter diameter globe made of Wajima lacquer is making waves, titled ‘The Earth at Night.’ This masterpiece was created over five years by 37 artisans in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture! The contrast between the black lacquer and gold embellishments is stunning! It remained unscathed during the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake It is called the ‘Miraculous Globe’ and is displayed as a symbol of reconstruction The map depicting cityscapes of Tokyo, New York, London, and Beijing using Wajima lacquer panels is also fascinating!! You can enter without waiting in line It’s recommended because it’s cool inside! Japan Post has a booth where regular postal services are being conducted Available only at the Expo Post Office Limited commemorative stamp set for sale The design features a collaboration between Myakumyaku and [Posukuma]! It was also released in April You can also buy the nationwide Expo commemorative stamps! The official Expo merchandise booth has a long line, so you’ll have to wait quite a bit You can buy at the post office without waiting in line, so definitely check it out Yamato Transport, with the theme of the future of logistics A slightly cute warning sticker You can get up to two per person There is one sticker that doesn’t actually exist Give it a try! The world of dreaming black cats with realistic fur, the giant black cat is adorable! Experience the future of package delivery by using facial recognition to open the delivery box Inside, there are kitties! It’s mostly open, so feel free to come in! The Mitsubishi Future Pavilion features the JOURNEY TO LIFE exhibit, where you can experience videos traveling from the deep sea to Mars while moving through several pavilions Personally, I couldn’t feel the message and it was a bit disappointing 10 pavilions you might want to enter if they’re open! The theme of the India Pavilion is the fusion of ancient civilization and future technology Yoga and Ayurveda experience zone featuring visuals inspired by the Ganges River and the Taj Mahal Theme of the Mozambique Pavilion A life in harmony with nature On the second floor, you can watch a video introducing the country Introduction to the fishing culture of the marine ecosystem along the Indian Ocean, featuring traditional instruments like the xylophone In the specialty products corner, traditional wooden crafts are sold The theme of Bangladesh is the coexistence of water and people The natural environment of the Bengal Delta Efforts to combat climate change The theme of the Senegal Pavilion, featuring handwoven fabrics and tea exhibitions, showcases the heartbeat and creativity of Africa, as well as the urban culture of Dakar and traditional crafts, which were central to the slave trade The negative World Heritage Site, Gorée Island, and Algeria’s theme is the land of wisdom and the desert, focusing on the ecosystem of the Sahara Desert The fusion of nomadic culture, the oil and natural gas industry, and renewable energy, etc Exhibitions of traditional costumes and crafts, etc The theme of the Cambodia Pavilion is the heritage and future of Angkor Speaking of Cambodia, it’s the model of Angkor Wat and the fusion of Khmer culture with contemporary art The theme of the Chile Pavilion is a challenge from the ends of the Earth The screen surrounds on all sides Mainly introduced through visuals It might have been a bit difficult to understand The theme of the Philippine Pavilion is the bonds and future of the islands Exhibition modeled after a traditional Bahai house Introduction of marine conservation and disaster prevention technologies, as well as displays of traditional clothing In the AI photo booth, you can take pictures with vibrant tropical designs featuring flowers, fish, and corals The theme of the Vietnam Pavilion is the traditional and innovative water culture Mainly an introduction to the country Vietnamese cuisine, banh mi, is in line! Finally, something very Vietnamese Souvenirs are popular and sold in abundance! The theme of the International Organizations Pavilion is ‘Contributing to Human Development Across Borders,’ featuring a joint pavilion of multiple international organizations including ASEAN! You can learn in a game-like manner and earn points to receive gifts You can study while having fun! This is my third visit to the Osaka Expo! Here’s an introduction to the 30 pavilions I actually saw The crowd levels and reservation status change daily As much as possible without lining up

BLUE OCEAN DOME
