[Shinkansen] How about a trip that just takes you “Dokokani Byu–n!”?

Hello! Where is our destination today? Once again, thank you for watching my video today. Today, we’ll start from Tokyo Station. I’m going to use my accumulated JR East JRE POINTS to travel with “Dokokani Byu–n!”. 🙏Please subscribe to my channel🙏 “Dokokani Byu–n!”is a service that allows you to travel to “somewhere” among four randomly selected Shinkansen stations. The appeal of this service is that you don’t know your destination until you decide, allowing you to enjoy traveling to unexpected places. I haven’t decided which Shinkansen to take in Tohoku, Akita, Yamagata, Joetsu, or Hokuriku. We’ll leave the results for later and take a look at how the application went. Go to “Dokokani Byu–n!” on the Ekinet website. Enter your desired date and time, and four station names will be displayed. If you don’t like them, just search again. You can search as many times as you like, so keep searching until you find a station you like. I applied when these four stations were selected. You’ll be assigned to one of these four stations. By using the discount coupon, The 6,000 points for the fare have been reduced to 4,000 points. Results will be notified by email within three days of application. It will be decided among these Shinkansen lines. In this video, we will announce the results on the platform. If it’s Shichinohe-Towada Station, it’s the Hayabusa. Since there are no Akita Shinkansen stations among the four, it’s not the Komachi. If it’s Yamagata Station, it’s the Tsubasa. If it’s Joetsu-Myoko Station or Niigata Station, it’s the Asama or Toki. Now, the announcement begins. Shichinohe-Towada or Yamagata? Or Joetsu-Myoko or Niigata? Niigata!!! We’ve decided on Joetsu Shinkansen Toki 311 bound for Niigata! Let’s get on board. ♪In-train chime♪ (Announcement) “Thank you for using JR East today. This train is the Joetsu Shinkansen Toki bound for Niigata. The next stop is Omiya.” A quick introduction to the facilities while enjoying breakfast. The Wi-Fi is a little slow. There are power outlets at every seat. We arrived at Omiya, the city of railways, in 22 minutes. ♪In-train chime♪ (Announcement) “Thank you for using the Joetsu Shinkansen again today. This train is the Toki bound for Niigata. Next stop is the terminal station, Niigata.” As we left Omiya, the train picked up speed. The Toki’s maximum speed is 275 km/h. It passes through major stations at top speed. Which station is it? Takasaki Station. Train 311 runs from Tokyo Station to Niigata Station, stopping only at Omiya Station along the way. It takes just 1 hour and 29 minutes from Tokyo to Niigata. Niigata is just around the corner. This fastest Toki only runs one round trip per day. A regular round-trip fare would cost over 20,000 yen, but thanks to “Dokokani Byu–n!”, I was able to use it for just 4,000 points. JR East is so generous, offering such a great deal. Plus, I was lucky to get on the rare 311 train. Hello, Niigata! By the way, if you use a transportation IC card, you can ride ticketless. Let’s rent a car and go sightseeing in Niigata. The weather is clear, but the temperature… it looks like it’s going to be a hot day in Niigata too. A quick guide to a one-day tour of Niigata. Get a goshuin at Yahiko Shrine and Enjoy the view from Mount Yahiko. Ride the Mt. Yahiko Panorama Tower for a spectacular view. You can see not only the ocean but also the Echigo Plain. Next, head to Teradomari Fish Market Street. It’s bustling and lively. When you’re hungry, let’s eat seafood. Driving along the coast, I arrived at the station closest to the sea. This is JR Shinetsu Main Line’s Aomigawa Station. After sweating it out at the day-trip hot springs, Let’s drink sake at Ponshukan. You can choose your favorite sake from over 100 different brands. Thank you for watching. See you again!
