AMERICAN TOURISM CRISIS
American tourism is in crisis. Where are the travelers we once had? America, the land of dreams, has long been a beacon for travelers around the world. But lately, the landscape has shifted. With recent policies on detainment and stricter entry regulations, many tourists are reconsidering their plans to visit the US. So, where are these tourists going? Compared to 2024, these four destinations are seeing huge increases in tourism. Coming in fourth place is Carco, Caribbean at 101% increase from 2024. Number three is Copenhagen, Denmark at 112% increase. Number two is Osaka, Japan at 137% increase. And coming in at number one at 148% increase is Buenos Ares. So while America debates its policies, the rest of the world is open up for tourism. Ciao for now.
✈️ America—the land of dreams—has always been a top destination for travelers worldwide. But lately, as you’ve probably noticed, the U.S. travel landscape has shifted.
According to the World Travel & Tourism Council, there’s a projected 12.5% international decline—and for Canadian travelers specifically, it’s expected to be closer to 17%.
From what I’m seeing in the news and hearing from other travelers, I predict the decline could be even higher.
So where are travelers going instead of the U.S.? 🌍 Curacao in the Caribbean, Copenhagen in Denmark, Osaka in Japan, and Buenos Aires are all seeing major boosts in tourism.
💭 The big question: How do we revive our cherished U.S. travel destinations and bring back that spirit of adventure in America?
I’d love to hear your thoughts—drop them in the comments!
