Set your alarms for an early-morning total lunar eclipse around the Western Pacific on Sept. 9.
Weather permitting, the “blood moon” will start at around 1:27 a.m. (JST/KST) in Japan and Korea and descend around 2:30 a.m.
The complete eclipse will be visible in Europe. In North America, the full moon, known as the “Corn Moon,” will be visible during the day on Sept. 9
The total eclipse ends up around 3:53 a.m., and a full moon will be visible at 4:57 a.m., according to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ).
The total lunar eclipse has not occurred in the region since November 8, 2022, and will not happen again until March 3, 2026. Don’t miss it!
