Arc System Works have confirmed that they will be present at Tokyo Game Show 2025 later this month, which is taking place between September 25th and September 28th.

While this isn’t necessarily a big surprise, what is news is that they’ve outlined which games they’re bringing to the show and are going to present, meaning they’re likely to get new information — and that includes both of their known currently in development fighting games.

Although we already heard from the game’s publisher Sony that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls would have some kind of presence at Tokyo Game Show, Arc System Works listing it for their part as well could mean a number of things.

It’s possible we’ll have multiple announcements for it, though it’s more likely that the announcement portion will be during Sony’s presentation while Arc System Works can probably be expected to have a playable demo version at their booth, most likely the closed beta build which is going to be playable this week.

As for Guilty Gear Strive, even though it was released 4 years ago back in 2021, it’s been seeing continued support and recently ended its fourth season with the release of guest character Lucy Kushinada from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Shortly before Lucy’s release, it was announced that Guilty Gear Strive will be receiving a version 2.0 in the near future with some of its features such as a proper ranked matchmaking mode already being implemented in the game.

This announcement also featured teasers for two upcoming characters, speculated by fans to be returning favorites Jam Kuradoberi and Robo-Ky, though it remains to be seen if it will actually be them.

With all this on the horizon for Guilty Gear Strive, it’s highly likely that we’ll get a glimpse at what’s coming up for version 2.0 at Tokyo Game Show later this month as well.

As for non-fighting games, Arc System Works confirmed that they will also be showing off Absolum, Double Dragon Revive and Dear me, I was…

Outside of Arc System Works, other fighting game companies will obviously be showcasing their titles at Tokyo Game Show as well.

Capcom already confirmed that Street Fighter 6 will be part of their presentation, which lines up well with the impending arrival of C. Viper as the second character of the game’s third season.

It’s also worth noting that Tekken 8 will be adding Armor King in mid-October so there might be more information to share either about this upcoming fan favorite or the brand new character Miary Zo who is joining the game after him.

Also, given that its predominate fan base is in Japan, it would be quite likely to see something new from Sega here for the upcoming new Virtua Fighter project, which we last saw footage of at Evo 2025 last month, debuting the actual gameplay of the title.

Whatever the case, there’s a lot to look forward to at this year’s Tokyo Game Show for fighting game fans so mark your calendars for the end of the month.
