Inside an Abandoned Pharmacy Lost For 40 Years!
I found a place where time has stood still
for more than 40 years. A grand house built in the late 1600s,
once home to an illustrious family. From the mid-18th century, it became the
beating heart of this town. A pharmacy of great prestige, where people traveled
from far away to buy their medicines. Today, the shelves remain. Bottles, remedies, and secrets untouched
since the doors last closed. This is not just a ruin. It is a monument of history, now left to
crumble into silence. We arrive at the location and don’t know
what to expect. This house was just a building my friend
Catu found on a satellite map. And now we were here to check it out. We pass through a tiny alley
following the wall of the building until we reached
the backside of the courtyard. The first obstacle was the garden wall. Like so many old Spanish homes,
the entire courtyard was fortified. One by one, we climbed over and landed in
the garden behind the building. From there, it looked hopeless. No open doors and no easy way in. Ooh, it looks like it’s possible. Only two windows high above the ground
seemed like our only chance. Sergio soon climbed to try the first window… but it was closed tight and no way in. So, we tried again. A heavy wooden beam once used to barricade
the garden gate became our ladder. And Sergio reached the second window,
looked inside, but… The floor is completely gone? — Yeah, but it’s a beautiful place. — You could see inside? — Yeah, I mean… — But you cannot walk there? — No! — So, other side. — I mean, there’s almost no floor. — Crazy. But then, in true Catu style,
he went for it anyway. Off-camera, he pulled himself
through the second window… found a way across the collapse,
and suddenly… a barn door creaked open from the inside. And with that, the real exploration began. Whoa! Alright, it looks like we made it in. I’m going to leave it a little bit open so
we have some natural light falling in. But this looks truly antique. Oh my gosh! Guys, there’s even still an upright piano standing. I can’t believe the decay. I really feel like an archeologist right now. Exploring this really ancient structure
that’s really forgotten about. We just released another episode of Abandoned Spain
on our second channel: Explomo 2. The video is now live. Check the link in the description. This was definitely a shed,
maybe for animals one day. Even the umbrellas are still in here. Oh… wow! Imagine the top floor… Wow, a very old coat rack over here. An old painting. Guys…! Look at this upright piano. “Piano and Organ Manufacturer” Made in Madrid. It’s been abandoned for so long that
barely anything is still working. Plants on the ground. This is what it looks like when a home
has been abandoned for over 40 years yet, left untouched by human hands. And from this forgotten space,
we move into the main hallway… in search of the
next clues to its story. This is like a very old bandage. I’m going to open up everything… because you really do not know
what historical treasures still rest inside. Wow! There we go. And soon I started finding the first
religious artifacts. “Apostolica”. It has all to do with religion. Check out this box. Wow! “Jesus Jose Maria”. 1918. Guys… This might even be one of the most well-preserved history
in one place that I’ve ever seen. And it’s going to get even better and
better, trust me. Take a look at the lock of this box as well. I think this was actually to brush your
shoes when you came inside. A cathedral. Whoa! Look at that chest! Oh, it’s opening! Oh, there’s still a very old frame inside. There’s even a medical agenda from 1930. Guys…! This is not just any notebook, it’s the pharmacist’s ledger
written almost a century ago. On these pages, every prescription and
client was carefully recorded. Here I find the name of a man called Climent,
prescribed 3 pills in the morning and 3 at night. Dispensed in Valencia at the cost of 6 pesetas. What once was routine pharmacy work,
has now become a fragile piece of history… preserved in ink and paper. The dust is just coming off this as I’m
touching the items in here. Like, it’s so musty and dusty, guys. This hasn’t been touched for ages. It’s unbelievable. A little notebook. 1931. Imagine, guys, it’s almost 100 years ago. I think the best is still to come. Because this was not just a house… this is actually a very ancient “botica”,
like they would say in Spanish. A very old pharmacy. And that pharmacy, guys, is right over here. I haven’t seen it yet. It’s going to be the first time, so…
let’s see it together. Pff…! Oh… my… freaking… gosh. Oh, oh… No freaking way. This might actually be the first time that I really cursed on a video,
but I can just not believe my eyes. Wow, oh wow. There, I’m walking into more than
three centuries of history. The origins of this house go back to 1690,
when it was built for Don Juan and his family. A century later, it became
the pharmacy of this town… and for generations, it gained a reputation
across the region for its skilled apothecaries. People would travel here from surrounding villages,
sometimes from far across the valleys… searching for cures and remedies
prepared within these very walls. Imagine the scent of herbs, the sound of mortars grinding,
bottles and jars lining these shelves… For more than 200 years, this was the
lifeline of the town. Today, it’s silent. A monument to both the family who built it
and the countless lives that once depended on it. Everything, all the potions, all the medicine… all the medical equipment from 17th, 18th, and 19th century
is perfectly preserved. This is unbelievable. We’ve ever done one pharmacy in Spain, but
I think this one is even more incredible. It has pianos, it has unbelievable decay. Because of the passage of time, most of
these drawers are now completely stuck. It’s still labeled with the names as well. Like, those are cobwebs and I’m not even
going to touch them. Vitamin B1 pills. 1968 is the date on this newspaper. Can you believe this, guys? The fact that places like this
still exist in this world. That people have respected it so well
for so many years. And nature is the only person… to have touched this place in at least 30-40 years. Oh, oh…! Oh my freaking gosh! “Salol puro”, like all those local… handmade antique medicine bottles from
a complete other time era. People here in the local town would come here
a century ago… to get their medicine
when they were ill. A complete other time when we
were not even born yet. It’s all handwritten. Those are some anesthetics. Over here is actually a diploma. from the University of Zaragoza,
a city in the northeast of Spain. This diploma names a man named José as a
“Bachiller en Farmacia” The degree of that time which allowed him to
practice and carry on the family pharmacy into one of its last generations. And it dates all the way back from… — 1881. — 1881, okay. Man… what a place, bro! I honestly also don’t want to touch it too much
because there are spiderwebs everywhere. And I want to keep it that way, you know? — Yeah. It’s unbelievable. The person that was running this very old pharmacy
actually got graduated and learned… about the subject of pharmacology… and medicine. Guys, just to give you an impression
of my face right now… I might be a little bit quiet, but I’m
completely speechless. This is so incredible. Look at those boxes. The price is in pesetas. That’s the currency before the euro
actually came. Oh, look at this box. From Madrid. It’s labeled with a little sticker also from a
laboratory in Madrid. Barcelona. “Quimicos”. that’s actually a chemical factory
where they made those medicines. All those tablets and pills. Pff, it’s unbelievable. I can be in this room for hours. There’s actually a name over there on that
box and it says “Juan”. So, maybe it was Mr. Juan… that actually ran this place back in its heyday. And the architecture is also truly historical. Let’s see what’s here. This might have been a little part behind the farm, you see, where they may have… actually prepared doses and stuff before
taking them to the counter in front. Those barrels with wine. What is this actually? Is it a portrait? Oh, wow! It’s actually a painting of a church. This was only the first floor. I haven’t even seen the other floor yet. But we’ll surely bring some difference about that since it’s time to enter and go upstairs. And yeah, it’s going to be a total surprise. Oh my…! You can already see that the floor is
completely skewed. And it’s in an extremely poor condition. Wow. Yeah, I need to be very careful where I step here. Oh, check this out! Wow! Oh my, this is hand-painted by the people. That’s amazing. They actually did a really good job. I’m going to try to make my way to this room. Woah! Guys, there’s so much in here. Let’s see if I can show some things from
here, maybe more up close. With the “Ave Maria” ornament over there
on the wall. You can also still see the drapes above
the curtains. And that’s a bathroom, but yeah, since this is just a bathroom,
I’m not going there and taking the risk. But check that out! On top of that lamp is even a monkey. It looks like they were also very artistic people. This looks like art they made themselves,
painted it. Wow! This is from 1885. From a National College. I just stumbled upon something I’d never
expect to find here in rural Spain. A banquet invitation from Mexico… dated 1885, printed in honor of President Porfirio Díaz,
the strongman who ruled Mexico for over 3 decades. Guys, this is a menu! It was issued for a grand military celebration
at the National School of Mining in Mexico City. How it ended up in this forgotten pharmacy all the way
across the ocean, remains a mystery. Wow. Guys… look at this painting! Just left the rot over here in this corner
with a beautiful gilded frame as well. An old picture of a Holy Communion. Also, a sewing machine of Singer. It must be a very old model. The cover’s on the ground. And the last piece over here is left on
its desk. No way! Check this out! Guys, I don’t even know how many minutes
we’re into this yet, but… It’s just so incredible to see everything
because everything in this place is old. It’s the true history of the past generations. The true history of another era. Okay, I’m gonna head back again to that point. Let’s see the door over here. I also don’t know what’s exactly over here. This is such an old home. Oh my gosh! A completely preserved bedroom. Still, a frame of Jesus Christ. Look at the cracks in the walls. Wow, those are very old clothes hooks. A prayer’s chair. They used to hang up their clothes over
there before they went to bed. Can you believe that even the drawers are
all still filled? 1916. It looks like it’s a story reading book. Unfortunately, the other drawers are
completely stuck and do seem mostly empty. I think that this actually leads to a balcony. The key is still in there. Oh no!
This leads to the attic. Oh, a very old heater. I’m definitely not going to walk on this attic. But I’ll show you a little bit of what
I can spot from here. Woah! I see a lot of chests. Old lamps. Have a look at this side of the roof. Completely collapsed. This place is really left to its fate. One day it will be history forever. Wow! Check this out, even the curtains are
still hanging here. Oh! The floor is very weak here. Wow! Have a look at this kitchen. Even still, some dishes over here. Haha, have you ever seen such
an old tin of Nesquik? Even still, all the kitchen amenities are
standing here. So, the upper part was the living part, obviously. And then, downstairs they ran… the pharmacy: “el botica”. “New Style”. Still, two “cervezas”, two beers in there. That’s empty. I don’t even exactly know what this tool
was used for over here. Some things are so traditional and artisanal
that I’ve never seen those items. Very old cutlery. An oven over here. And even there on those little hooks… are still some spoons hanging probably for
soup and everything to bowl it out. Okay… I’ve seen some other rooms and we haven’t
seen a living room on this floor yet. So, how is this, boys? — Bro, this decay is absolutely… incredible. — This might be one of the most incredible
decayed places I’ve ever seen. Like, everything is decayed but it’s
completely preserved. — Yeah, yeah. Did you see the “botica”? — Yeah, bro, I saw the “botica”. I went crazy. — It’s even older than the other one (we already explored). — Yeah, yeah, it’s from the early 1600s. — It’s freaking incredible. — It is, bro, it is. — It’s amazing. — Bro, we did it, man. We found this incredible place. Look, even the telephone is still hanging here. Like an old rotary phone. Porcelain birds hanging
as decoration on the wall. Pff… woah! It’s insane! Guys, the wallpaper is all peeling. You can see all the furniture standing and the wallpaper is even covering up
that beautiful portrait over there. The entire roof has collapsed. Like, we cannot walk in this room anymore. That would be a suicide mission. A complete suicide mission. I believe this is actually leading to
the living room. Wow! Guys, no way! Check this out! Wow! There’s an incredible upright piano. It’s even more beautiful than the one
we found on the first floor. Even a family coat of arms on top of the
moldings on this mirror frame. Another piano from Madrid. “Remiade por S.M.” “Guillermo Weiss” Compared to the other one, most of the
keys of this piano are still working. And if you see the can holders on both sides… it reminds me a lot of the French
“Pleyel” pianos that we find. A lot in the old manors and chateaux in France. This is what urban exploration is about. Finding a well-kept treasure like this. It has remained unseen from the human eye
forever and a day. You can see there are literally no dust marks
except a few animal paws of cats that could have possibly entered through a
window that was open. Jesus Christ. “Jesús Christus”. Wow! I really like to see that they also used
wallpaper in this place because it’s not something very common
for most Spanish homes. A chandelier hanging there. This used to be a bedroom, a double room. I can definitely not get closer to
there, but I do want to see this. It’s like a pillar or something. It also looks hand-painted. Another one of the pillars has actually
fallen down. It’s laying right over there. It could’ve actually been a lamp, because
I see a lamp shade over there. I didn’t even mention this old television,
by the way. It’s an old Philips television. It might be one of the first models that
have been ever made. Check this little thing out. Maybe for a little bit of holy water. Like a tiny receptacle so they could make
a cross on their forehead. I think we just entered the master bedroom. Connected to the living area. And again, it’s unbelievable. A beautiful lamp over here. A wardrobe. Wow, this is such an unbelievable sight. Connected to the bedroom, we have the office. And have a look at how post-apocalyptic
this side over here is. Mind-blowing. The chair is incredible. At least, what’s still left of the chair
because it has just… been deteriorating. The suitcase is still standing there,
probably like… where he actually used to put
all his files and documents in. The doctor… that used to run
this entire pharmacy. A well-studied man. Wow! Guys… This was an exploration for in the books. I will never ever forget this place. Some places might feel eternal, yet even
eternity can crumble. This pharmacy built more than three centuries ago
is now on Spain’s Red List of Monuments in Danger. Its walls are splitting, its roof collapsing, and with
every season, another piece of history falls away. Once, people traveled from far and wide
for the medicines prepared here. Yet, today, its legacy survives only in dust,
forgotten bottles, and fading memories. Without intervention, this house, this
story, will soon be gone forever. And that is why standing here in this
silence feels so overwhelming. Because what you’ve just seen may already
belong to the past. Next week in abandoned Spain, we step inside
the grand palace of the Spanish Air Force colonel. A place of power, beauty, and decay. Don’t miss out on this special new episode
coming your way!

Hidden in a small Spanish town lies a building where time has been standing still for over 40 years — a centuries-old botica, a traditional pharmacy. 🏛️🇪🇸
Built in 1690, this grand house belonged to Don Juan, whose apothecaries earned prestige far beyond the region. For more than two centuries, people traveled here to buy their remedies, potions, and cures. When the last pharmacist passed away in the 1980s, the doors were closed — and everything inside was left behind.
Today, shelves still hold jars of medicine, hand-labeled bottles, and ledgers from another age. Upstairs, the living quarters remain just as the family left them: bedrooms with antique furniture, kitchens stocked with utensils, and portraits gazing out from peeling wallpaper.
Inside, we uncover:
💊 Original cabinets stacked with medicines from the 18th–20th century
📜 Handwritten notebooks, medical agendas, and a pharmacist’s diploma from the 1800s
🛏️ Family bedrooms with personal belongings frozen in time
🎹 Upright pianos, portraits, and furniture untouched for decades
A pharmacy that once gave life to a town now stands as a monument to forgotten history — and a reminder that nothing lasts forever.

A true mission in the middle of the night 🏛🥷🏽
Hi! Maureno, This was a really wonderful house. I have never seen anything like it. I just had a problem with the time frames of some of the stuff. It seemed like some of the stuff was late '60s early '70s but the documentations throw out were showing late 1800s early 1900s. But needless to say again it was a beautiful house. Thanks again!
MAKASSAR sul-sel INDONESIA 🍷🙏

Thanks!
Very well documented as always Maureno! Thank you for all of your hard work. Love the history, hopefully it can be saved. God bless and keep safe my friend!
I hope someone saves what is left. Its so sad.
Kaliksiya tomosha qilish Yoqimliy Omad yigitlar 😊
The wooden tool that you said you do not know what it is for was used for mending socks . It was put inside a sock and wool would be sewn to mend holes . I am not Neil from Canada . Great video .
The thing you said might be for holly water looks like an ashtray to me ? I am not Neil from Canada .
What an amazing find. Thanks for sharing this explore 😊 ❤❤. Stay safe 🙏 ❤❤
Çok guzeldi zamanda yolculuk🇹🇷🙂👏🏻👏🏻💐

Bravo momci. Hvala vam puno za vaš rad i hrabrost.
Hi another great video thank you .
Wow, and unbelievable is really amazing. Nature is crazy last time somebody was living there 53 years ago is mind blowing
What a gem! Blew me away!

Hey dear Maureno, Explomo, this was a really fascinating explore in that old abandoned mansion somewhere in Spain! What an amazing location with some still nice and well preserved rooms despite of the many traces of seriously heavy decay. But nevertheless there is such a lot of beauty behind the decay. – I found the pharmacy with all these bottles and other items so very amazing. – Absolutely and strikingly fascinating were also some antique pieces of paper like that banquet invitation from 1885, – wow..unbelievably interesting find of some historical significance! – But, hey, where is your beautiful EX intro title. I missed that painfully, and after my opinion you should not leave it out, because it represents your youtube channel and is something like a corporate identity!
Stay safe, take care, peace and happy greetings from Switzerland.
Nice
