A Day Out in Yokohama
Yokohama is one of my favorite places in Japan, which is strange because when I lived just a train ride away, I barely saw it. It wasn’t until the final days of my time in Tokyo that I finally took the trip out to Moto Machi Chukai, I immediately regretted not coming sooner. That’s why earlier this year when I returned to Japan for the first time in years, I went there on day two. [Music] My first stop was to 7-Eleven to get an ice latte. So, I just found a spot to sit. I got a 7-Eleven ice latte, surprisingly one of my favorite coffees in the world. Egg sandwich. These aren’t very filling by themselves. Fried rice, which is probably not the best choice because I’m going to be having that for dinner anyway. I made my way to Yamasha Park where coincidentally there was some kind of festival on playing music by Tatsuri Masha, which I cannot play for copyright reasons. I spent quite some time in the park as I ended up deep in conversation with another traveler. This is why I love traveling alone. You do so many things and meet so many people if you’re forced out of the comfort zone of sticking with people you know. You match the park has other attractions apart from strangers such as the retired cruise ship NYK Hikawa Maru and the quintessential view of Minto Mi which means harbor of the future and it sure does look it with the Yokohama landmark tower towering above the waterfront. I’ve always thought this building looks like something out of Lord of the Rings but that might just be me. [Music] After a pleasant walk through Chinatown and another park, the aptly named Yokohama Park, I arrived in the Minto Mai area and procured another more aesthetic iced coffee at the Yokohama Hammerhead Pier. Eventually, I ended up right beneath the landmark tower where I made a beline for the Chinese restaurant I went to last time I was here. And I immediately ordered some plum wine and enjoyed some fried rice while looking at another boat. Now that I was no longer starving, the views from the top of the tower marked the perfect end to a lovely day out. [Music] Thanks for watching my first ever video. I’m hoping to put out more stuff in the near future and to keep improving my skills as I go. So, please consider subscribing if you’d like to. Bye-bye.

This is my first YouTube video, so I’m very much still learning the ropes of filming and editing. I’ll hopefully have more videos on the way soon, from my vlogs in Tokyo, on this same Japan trip earlier this year.
