Hokkaido Camping Car & Outdoor Show 2025 | Vanlife Japan: 2 Weeks Around Hokkaido

Okay, so we made it to the Hokkaido camping car in Outdoor Shore 2025. We’re just now arriving after a two week travel around Hokkaido. We are ending it with the RV show. So, let’s start this. And uh most of this is going to be very little editing. So, let’s go ahead and just kind of get some different ideas and see what we have here. This is definitely not as big as um the one in Tokyo that we went to like a year and a half ago. That one was huge. That literally took us all day long. Oh, okay. So, I talked about that during our trip about this this particular RV park. Well, it looks like there’s our QR code. Have to make reservations. Probably have to loosen up our shoes because they’re always coming in and out. Jollibee. That’s handy. [Music] I don’t think I’ve ever seen this brand. Jollibee. It’s a lots of storage. So, this one almost 10 million yen. That’s around maybe $75,000. I’m just going off the cuff right now. I’m not really sure. The bad thing about these is kind of hard. You got to compete to get in there and you have to take off your shoes and everything, which is obviously the right thing to do, which is what that you have to do. See? Brand new Toyota. These little car conversions are pretty cool, too. This was about almost 4 million yen. Cool little table, little popup. Oh, this one right here that we were looking at a minute ago. 11 million evolved. Ouch. $18 million. How much is that? About uh almost $100,000, right? 122, huh? $122,000. $122,000. And there’s a line to go look inside of it. Type TL. I want to go look inside of it. Wait for that line. I guess we have to come back. Another Jollibee. Yeah. Yeah. The other one was uh 11,000. Yeah. Jollibee. Yeah, we’re going to come back and see the little bigger RVs because too many people trying to get in there. Meanwhile, let’s look at these smaller ones like ours. Good ideas. It’s 10 million. I’d rather go with something bigger, huh? This one has a sink, refrigerator, air conditioner, microwave lid, mini camper, offtime traveler. See, this is an interesting pockets like that, you know, like we could you could make something like that for our windows. Yeah. It’s interesting to see the different little knickknacks. See how they all come together. 4 million body has a little popup and everything on my Honda body. Leno premium. Is that a toilet? Looks like Yeah. Little toilet. Oh, it’s a wrap on. Okay. Just like like ours, but ours is more thicker. More? Yeah, bigger. The sink is sit. Oh, yeah. You can. Yeah, that’s right. There we go. That’s different. We definitely did not see this model before. Wrapound sink. Not sure if I’m liking the white. Is this like where they have all the RV parks? Oops. 43. Okay. Okay, so in Hokkaido you have 34 and then the main area you have 43 different areas on this website right here or that particular but we have seen several but these are pretty neat even at the hotel we stayed at last night had one four people four people can sleep in this about 3.5 I’m not sure about rice. 20 minutes you can make a rice in 20 minutes. You can make rice. Air conditioner for camping car, camp cool, wherever that is. This little heater. Oh, you can lay flat in here. So, this is the first time we’ve seen this, but it’s some sort little attachment to the window and a little drain tube. So, then hold on. I need to see how this works. So, the how Oh, okay. There’s a little crack right there and it just slides in the window. Huh. That’s not That’s not bad. Yeah. Yeah. For a smaller car. Yeah. They have it in 16. First time I’ve seen this. That’s neat. 3 million is a trailer. Kamati. Yeah. I just don’t know if I want to be driving the trailer in Japan. And plus, I think you may have to have a license. Pretty sure you do. Like everything you do in Japan, you’d have to have a license, which is understandable. This on a uh like a K truck body, a little Mazda. This is that Toyota that we’re in. Yeah. I don’t think neither one of us This would be more a storage, huh? Teeny little max flow. This is a little bit extra wide body, so we might be able to sleep there together. Good thing I can stand. Little refrigerator over here regard. Well, just all kinds of storage. So, what were you saying a minute ago about the bed? You said the bed comes down w comes down the bed. [Music] Oh, yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. Let’s jump in this one real quick. Oh, it’s nice and easy to get in. Little standup kitchen. Two beds, bunk bed, little microwave, the air conditioner on this bed. It comes down, she says. I need to see if Oh, yeah. I could fit in here. Huh? Yeah. There’s a toilet. Oh, that’s a good size toilet, too. Okay, let’s let someone else come in here. This one is uh not a bad layout. The price 13 million. She’s doing the math right now. 90,000. Oh, okay. So, right now, this this price is kind of bare bones. the air conditioner. How long will it last with the batteries that we have? Seven to eight hours probably. Depend. Yeah. How much you use it and everything. Yeah. So, but you could use it all night. Yeah, but then you got then you’re going to run out of battery and then and there’s an outlet and then there’s the door. So, this is where you take it out, right? Obviously, I think it’s a Hi, it’s a Nissan. I think so. Well, I guess we have one person who sleep there and one person over there. Yeah. Look at it from this side. Canon 7 million. Yeah. On a Toyota High Ace body. But yeah, like sit up and bottom. Oh yeah. This this comes down too and it goes up. That’s interesting. Vivo FF heater, cooker, toilet, awning. Well, you could put an on Interesting handle there. Yeah, that’s a that is a air conditioner unit over there. I want to look at this little bus. See, I want to do a little bus conversion. But what I’m worried about is the license. I would love to take one of these little old buses and make a conversion. Very white. She puts up on the Instagram and then they already sold one. Oh. Oh, wow. And what is this? Time to decide. Time to decide. Buy it. You’re a good salesperson. Is this the brand? Is this the AC? Octavia. Oh, okay. Wow. Do you need a special license to drive this? No. So, you can’t. Yeah. Because of the age. Yeah. So, that’s that’s this is our Instagram. RV Bigfoot. RV Bigfoot. Yes. Like like Bigfoot. Okay. Okay. Yeah, we will add it. # RV Bigfoot. Okay, there you go. We will add it. Yes. Thank you very much. That was great. Great information. Where you at? In Tokyo or where? City. And our main office is Saitama. Saitama City. Okay, cool. So, it has uh four 180 W panels. So, what kind of heater does it have? FF. So, so 22,000. How much does that come out in dollars again? Like $150,000. I mean, we could live full time in here. You You can set up portable. Oh, okay. Like wrap on or something like that. Okay. So, you’re always complaining about the refrigerator size. Look at that refrigerator. ACS. That’s the same company, too. Oh, wow. Look at this. For the air conditioner, the vent for the air conditioner. Little two solar panels. Huh. Well, they fit quite a bit in here, that’s for sure. So, this is a different type of uh wrap on. So, well, here in Japan, you don’t have a place to dispose of your gray water, black water. So, that’s probably one of your best options. And quite frankly, you don’t really use it very often. So, yeah, many times you’re not going to find a toilet. There’s like little compartment for a toilet and then you buy something like this separate. 21 million. How much was that again? About 150,000. But you can be full-time in one of these. This is gorgeous, though. This is like the full-time daddies. It has an awesome channel. Check him out. Full-time daddy. And he’s traveling around Japan with his uh young family. Beautiful. [Music] They have the different layouts and everything and it’s on a Fiat body. The only thing is they’re are big for the roads in Japan. Probably Hokkaido. Not that bad though, huh? Mainland depends. Yeah. Lots of room, lots of storage for Japan standards. Those of you tuning in from the states, uh, yeah, you just have to change your expectations. Yeah, these little trailers, you got to have a license. It’s not not the same. Last time when we saw these with the rear entry were the layout was better. Easy. Yeah. You good? Yeah. You’re a good doggy. Yeah, you’re a good doggy. 9 million. And actually the width is it doesn’t come out that much more than the highest, but it’s high. 720 watts. Yeah. Renogi. Um, super slim solid state lithium battery. FF heater. Oh, looks like the toilet cartridge. You pull out from out here. You do your business in there. I just got to peek through here. Yeah, but the kitchen with the rear entry, the kitchen seems like a pretty good layout. And actually, quite frankly, all these little cars and since we’ve been driving around uh Hokkaido for the past two weeks, man, people just make it work. I need to make a little slide out for my camper here soon. That’s the next project. But yeah, it be kind of a slide out like this. Yeah, we went from camping cars to Ferraris. Okay. Please don’t touch Choco. You like to touch everything. 29 million. 27 million. That’s quite fancy. the microwave. Portable portable microwave. So, this goes inside. So, all you got to do is put this outside. That’s a pretty interesting option, huh? On the boats. [Laughter] [Laughter] the the second best part about coming to RV shows is a petting everyone’s dogs. Little table option goes in the middle. So, it looks like where the normally right here you have the the chairs uh the back I guess the back row and they created a little unit there with different outlets. Same for this side. Oh, this is another delica. This is the older model, right? Yeah. This has a little window unit right here that’s attached already. Little water hose. They have all these options and everything. Yeah. cotton. The seats flatten out. Kind of make a little bed there. The power unit. I don’t like this fake material. I don’t like this bed either. Yeah. Yeah. Interesting. Interesting option. Well, but this you get a little little table. Yeah. Bunks. It’s a million on a Toyota. rear entry. I think so far I like the rear entries better. This is a little bit bigger than this is like almost a fulls size refrigerator almost. [Laughter] And this is probably a toilet, right? Yeah. Or Yeah. Place to put a toilet in there if you need to. refrigerator. Oh, this is the Avent 2026. Yeah, that one pulls out. Lots of room storage. Nice wide table. I mean, I think both of us could squeeze in up there. Oh, the air conditioner. And this slides out. See, look. So, you could easy sleep up there. A nice wide table. There’s another van tech. Yeah. One problem we’re having in Hokkaido is the garbage duly. I like that. I want to look inside this one too. The ventex seem pretty good, huh? says he has a battery system has solar. I I don’t know if this is options or Oh, so the different the different models heating so it doesn’t freeze or something. Oh, okay. And then uh Supercharge. So, it’s quick. Mhm. 3,000 W. 6 kilow. 6,000. So, it’s about 8 months to get. I I just now notice every time I see these out there. So, 78 watts. Yeah. And you you can control with the phone. [Music] It’s about $100,000. I just want to look at the Airstream from the outside. 27 million. So in Japan, you don’t have many um big size pickup trucks. Probably the biggest is like a Toyota Tacoma. So it’s like, can they even pull it? That’s my question. Not sure if that’s a wise choice. at least in Japan. And then the roads are just not conducive for something like this. Beautiful. But no, this is what I need to make my own conversion. The 6 million bare bones to make. Well, it’s used. So, it won’t be six. It’ll be like two. Then I could do my own conversion. But I would love to make my own conversion. CC1 Venus 14 million. Let’s go look at this. No, it’s in a Nissan body. Yeah. Way too tight. Where do you sleep? No, you can’t sleep. Mm-m. Huh? No, interesting layout, but that one has the air conditioner on the top. See, I’m still looking for a high that has that little conversion right there for storage. I’ve seen them before. I just haven’t seen no one else’s. Yeah, you can. Lots of space here. [Music] Yeah. Yeah, I want to go look at that brand Explorer 4×4. It’s on the pickup truck. The Hilux. It’s like, let’s say the Tacoma of the United States. These are like your campers in the States. I don’t know how easy it attaches. I have no idea. Probably not that easy because in the States, you get the camper where you could just literally just back up into it. Oo, this is sexy. Oh, for people like fishing outdoors. [Music] Pretty big size bed. Two people could fit in here. The air conditioner blowing on you right there. Or one more person could be over there. Little microwave unit. [Music] So that’s 1.8. So that’s a little over $100,000, right? Uh, and it’s big, but it’s not huge huge big. Let’s at least look at that one. I’ll line up. It’s quite fancy. Quite nice. [Music] Very nice insulation. Look at how thick it is. I mean, this is like the width of my hand. Thick. Good insulation. I bet you you can’t hear much either. That’s pretty neat. [Music] Very nice. Nice and tight. [Music] The refrigerator is still about the same size that we have right now. A little bit bigger. Okay. Just a little bit bigger. Two burner. Ted. Oh, that’s a T. That’s the exhaust. The pull out is huge up here. Yeah. Oh yeah, this is nice screens. Oh, the bed in the back. Oo, look at this toilet is huge. Bed is back here and the air conditioner. Max fan. This was a little over $100,000. It seems quite popular because everyone’s waiting for it, huh? Nice comfy cab. Hi. There you go. Here’s all the space. So, but what we’re looking at is this side cap right here. And this is the exhaust is coming out hot air. And this is the intake under here on the side. It has the air conditioner in it. But this particular van 7 million base camper they’re called seem to have a pretty interesting I guess concept. The the center console is flat. You see big large bed. Nice spot for the umbrellas. Shoes. Nice entrance. Then you got microwave over there. Wonder what that thing is over there. Where’d you go? And they have a TV. The screen, the curtain that goes all the way around it behind it. That’s pretty neat. This little storage and they got a renee system. Yeah, this is actually pretty interesting. And again, they they have the flat console right there. Pretty interesting layout. I think they smartly uh used the layout, the space and everything. Huh. A little extra storage here, the water condensation that builds up. Yeah. Yeah. Little storage. More storage up here. And the TV is really nice. Nice audio. And then you can little cushions. Oh, for laundry hanger. Oh, okay. Uhhuh. Wondering what that was. Is to hang your laundry. And there your solar panel. Probably just one. Uh, so solar 320 320 watts. I like that. I really like that right there. But they have a copyright on that thing. That’s how they gradually go up in price, huh? I guess this is it. A little bit difficult to get in a lot of them because, you know, you got to take your turn. I mean, that’s the way it is. Quite enjoyable. Still not ready to buy a new one yet, right? Well, maybe you are. See, but the you’re always ready. But the problem is you don’t pay. But no, that’s not the problem. The problem is the license and my situation because in my situation, well, right now I could drive a big one. Right. Right now I could under my American license. So folks, I under sofa status. So that’s a little bit different. But when I become a Japanese resident, then the whole was on my license. it which allows me what I can drive. Uh or I would have to take a test to drive something big like that. But like these right here, like the puppy and like that one right there, those I’m fine, right? That’s uh that’s something we’re going to have to figure out later on. Okay, let’s call it a day. After this, we’re heading back home. Let’s go.
