Hey all,
I’ve got a Toyota Crown GRS204 (S200) with the factory 18-speaker premium audio system. Some of the speakers sound blown/distorted, and I want to replace them with aftermarket ones.

I don’t want to go crazy with high-power SPL gear — just direct-fit replacements that match the factory amp (impedance + RMS) so I don’t keep blowing speakers.

Does anyone know:
• The OEM speaker sizes/locations (main doors, dash, tweeters, rear, etc.) for the 18-speaker setup?
• Good aftermarket brands/models that drop right in and play nice with the stock amp?
• Whether it’s better to replace the factory amp at the same time, or if the OEM one is fine with quality aftermarket speakers?

I just want clean, reliable sound again without mismatched parts. Any advice from anyone who’s upgraded an S200 Crown or similar Toyota/Lexus system would be awesome
.

You’ll probably find that the speaker surrounds have disintegrated. It’s about right for the age of the car. You can usually find kits to replace them.

Measure them and order ones that are the same size…
