Defending world champions Josh Kerr and Katarina Johnson-Thompson are joined by Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson on a 64-strong Great Britain & Northern Ireland team for the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25.

Hodgkinson, who has made an impressive return after injury, will be joined in the 800m by her training partner Georgia Hunter Bell, the Olympic 1500m bronze medallist, plus Jemma Reekie.

Kerr will line up alongside 2022 world champion Jake Wightman, world indoor silver medallist Neil Gourley and Elliot Giles in the 1500m.

Joining Johnson-Thompson in the heptathlon are Jade O’Dowda and Abigail Pawlett.

The 2019 world 200m champion Dina Asher-Smith, Amy Hunt and Daryll Neita all double up in the 100m and 200m, and also form part of the 4x100m squad. Zharnel Hughes does the same in the men’s sprints.

World and Olympic silver medallist Laura Muir contests the 1500m, while 2024 world indoor champion Molly Caudery goes in the pole vault and Morgan Lake, who recently cleared a national record of 2.00m, is confirmed for the high jump.
