CRAFTSMANSGHIP IN HOKURIKU
The Kanazawa and Yamanaka regions of Hokuriku have birthed many traditional Japanese arts, including a lacquerware and gold leaf handicraft called “Makie,” an art form roughly 1,300 years old. Here wood carvers are trained to carve using their soul as much as their hands and eyes. And gold leaf craftsmanship is an ancient art inspired by old masters.
