It is the first time in 68 years that such a high snowfall has been recorded in December. Local media outlet Snow Brains called this winter the “beginning of the best winter season since 1956.” According to Japanese weather media, more snow is expected in the future and favorable conditions for skiing are expected to continue.
In response, Japanese ski resorts are focusing on marketing by steadily posting images of slopes covered with natural snow on their official SNS. Tourists expressed high expectations as they could see the ‘powder ski resort’ covered with natural snow.
