Founded at 26! Her Warm DREAM—and the TWO Who Stand by Her
Our personalities are the same and we often think the same way, so when problems come up in the business, she’s always there to help me solve them. She’s a really reliable and supportive partner. Here we have Kana-san, the owner WJ: Is it okay if I talk to you while filming? Oh, yeah, totally fine! Oh, yeah, totally fine!
It’s just that I’m really not good at talking…haha It’s just that I’m really not good at talking…haha So, please mostly talk to my sister. WJ: Do you handle Japanese sweets? Nope, we all do it together. WJ: Who comes up with the wagashi menu? Um, the owner does. Kana: The trigger was when I started working at a takoyaki place in high school and I stayed on as a full-time employee. and I stayed on as a full-time employee.
I worked there for about seven or eight years, but then I decided to try a different job but then I decided to try a different job and became an office worker for two years. But I kept thinking “I really want to make takoyaki every day.” But I kept thinking “I really want to make takoyaki every day.” because I really love making it. So, while I was working in the office, So, while I was working in the office, I was thinking about opening my own place and that’s how I started about six years ago. When I started it was just a food stall and I thought it would be difficult to ever have a shop of my own, maybe taking 10 or 15 years. But I opened this shop in my fourth year. But I opened this shop in my fourth year.
So, I was able to have a store much sooner than I had imagined. So, I was able to have a store much sooner than I had imagined. The takoyaki shop I used to work at had “Nagoya-yaki” The takoyaki shop I used to work at had “Nagoya-yaki”
a cross between takoyaki and okonomiyaki with a firm batter. a cross between takoyaki and okonomiyaki with a firm batter. But I wanted to sell Osaka-style, Kansai-style takoyaki with a flavorful, melty batter here in Aichi. So, I went to Osaka many times to research and develop the batter. WJ: Are you two identical twins? Saki (older sister) yes, we are. We’re the same height and weight, everything. We like the same things, you know? We like the same things, you know?
The same music… we have similar tastes in that way, so we get along really well like friends. WJ: What’s the flavor of the takoyaki like here? The dashi flavor really comes through, and the inside is so melty… it’s delicious haha! WJ: Nino-san, when did you start working here? Nino: I started working here about a year ago, I think I used to be a regular customer and I got really close with the two and then I started working part-time I initially found out about them on Instagram and other social media. Since I live nearby, I decided to try it out and the atmosphere was so bright and welcoming that I keep coming back for that vibe. First of all, the two are incredibly kind, and the conversations are fun. They also taught me how to make takoyaki carefully, so it’s been a blast. Kana-san is just so kind and Saki-san is funny. No matter what you say or do, she always responds and that makes me so fun. It’s so much fun! Everyone is so kind, and it’s such a fun workplace that I never get tired of coming here every day. WJ: How long have you been making takoyaki? For me, it’s about two years now. Or maybe more, like four? haha WJ: Have you been doing this job the whole time? No, I joined later… Haha, I can’t talk! I can’t look at the camera! I can’t look at the camera!
WJ: You don’t have to look at it at all! WJ: What’s rewarding about making takoyaki? The fun of it, I guess. The enjoyment of interacting with customers. Um, please don’t use this part! WJ: It was great! This slightly shy gentleman, Misaki-san, is actually Kana-san’s husband! He’s a strong pillar of support for Kana-san’s aspiration to contribute to their local community. Saki: How long has it been? Saki: How long has it been?
We haven’t fought in over ten years. Yeah, our opinions never clash Yeah, our opinions never clash
because we usually think the same way. Even when it comes to work, if one of us says, “I want to do it this way,” the other will be like, “Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.” So, we don’t argue. Kana: Our personalities are the same and we often think the same way, so when problems come up in the business, so when problems come up in the business,

or expanding the business or company at all. I just want this current shop to be loved by the locals. We’ve only been open for two years but I hope we can gain more regulars, expand our menu and create an even more comfortable and welcoming place.

Ok
Totally love these two very beautiful sisters, so hardworking, they get along so well with each other and both have amazing personalities. I’m very happy to see that they were finally able to get their own permanent location. I definitely want to visit this place and try their delicious looking food. I’d love to work for them lol.
Twins sisters running a restaurant business awesome 👍😎. This one of the reasons why I want to go to Japan and try the food vs others foods 😊
