HONOLULU (Island News) — The 43rd Annual Okinawan Festival celebrates all of the special food, traditions and history of Okinawa at the Honolulu Hawaii Convention Center this weekend.
Celebrate Uchinanchu, a term used by Okinawan immigrants and their descendants to Hawaii, culture at the Okinawan Festival which is stocked full of live performances and ono food. After the first day of the festival on Saturday, Aug. 30, bon dance festivities begin downstairs starting at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
The festival returns for its second day on Sunday, Aug. 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Live entertainment runs throughout the entire day and early admission starts at 9 a.m.
