$0.50 Street Food in China

For 50 cents, I got this hollow moon cake. It starts with a really soft dough that the vendor fills with brown sugar, sesame, and crushed peanuts. They carefully form it into a bowl before it’s pressed into shape. Then they sear it to give it some color before it’s baked for 5 minutes. The brown sugar melts into the dough and it becomes brittle and chewy and it’s so

This hollow mooncake (空心月饼) costs just 50 cents. It starts with a soft dough, filled with brown sugar, sesame, and crushed peanuts.
The vendor rolls it into a ball, presses it flat, sears it for color, then bakes it.
The brown sugar melts into the dough, turning gooey, brittle, and chewy all at once. The mooncaskes are crispy outside, nutty and sweet inside—simple, nostalgic, and so satisfying.

  1. Moon cake is not only a delicious snack,bl but also means families getting together(全家团圆) in Chinese. Because moon cake is round(圆).

  2. This looks so good! I find the usual mooncakes too heavy – 太滯啦 – and this looks like a lighter snack.

  3. They will always talk if an Indian aint using gloves but wont argue if Chinese people dont wear this. They would eat this with pleasure. Thats awesome 😊😊

  4. Thank you for your videos Chinese food culture is really impressive and healthy. I think India really need to improve our foods we should ban refined wheat and palm oil and white sugar because most of the foods in india have this three ingredients.

  5. Isn't that VERY similar to korean 호떡? (Hotteok) it is like it is the same exact thing also dough filled with brown sugar nuts and sesame

  6. I was eating while watching this so I didn't pay much attention to it. So I was like "Oh the steps are just like how to make a Mooncake". I let the video play in repeat and just realise it's actually Mooncake for real HAHA
