Vice President Sara Duterte will travel to Japan in September to visit the Filipino community there.
“Yes, tuloy ‘yung Japan. Na-set na ‘yun ng Filipino community,” Duterte said in an interaction with one of her supporters on Thursday.
(Yes, the trip to Japan will proceed. The Filipino community has set it.)
She and her three siblings– Davao City Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, and Kitty Duterte– are currently in The Hague, Netherlands, to spend time with their father, former president Rodrigo Duterte.
The former president is currently detained by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on crimes against humanity charges in connection with the killings in his war on drugs when he was mayor of Davao City and when he was president of the Philippines.
The vice president had also met with the Filipino community in Australia, Kuwait, Qatar, Malaysia, and France over the past few months. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
