TOKYO: Japan’s Foreign Minister IWAYA Takeshi is set to visit Kuwait from Monday to participate in the Second Japan-GCC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, a significant diplomatic event with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as announced by the Foreign Ministry.
During his visit to Kuwait, Minister Iwaya plans to engage in separate meetings with foreign ministers and other officials from the GCC countries, including Kuwait, the current GCC chair country. The discussions will focus on mutual benefits such as stable energy supplies and enhanced cooperation in the international arena.
Minister Iwaya is scheduled to leave Tokyo on August 31, arriving in Kuwait on September 1, and will return to the Japanese capital on September 3.
Kuwait, a steadfast supplier of crude oil to Japan, plays a crucial role in ensuring Japan’s energy security, fostering strong economic relations between the two countries.
