Tokyo Japan | First Time in Shibuya – Shopping, Eating, Chaos!
[Music] Harry Potter bus [Music] right now. I definitely was not expecting this. It’s real crowded. It’s packed. People everywhere. We going to hit up Shabuya. Check out the area. I haven’t been over there yet, so this will be a first time for me. Um, subways right here. I like the subs here. They complex, but you can get around all over. That’s one thing I like about being out here. I’ve been enjoying my time here. All right, we headed to the Zline. We got four more stops. We’re going down even further. A lot of tourists out here, but you won’t know who’s from where. A lot of Korean, Chinese, and it’s hard for me to distinguish this. Just going to get something to drink. Let’s see what we got over here. You’re not supposed to drink in the subways. You drink here. You put your drinks up, but that’s it. I’m curious on what this chill out is. I wonder what’s in that about [Music] I need to see how much I got left on my car. I need to charge it. Okay, I got 1,200 left. I’m going to put 1,000 on there. Well, you know what? I’mma wait cuz I might not use all that yet. We about to go. This This ride cost me 200. 200 yen. We’re going to go this way. This area is big. Now, we’re going to walk around, see what’s going on. You just drop the card on there and it deducts your amount. That’s it. We still in the subway. And I thought this was just one little market. This is a whole food court down here. Damn, they got all kinds of stuff in here. Air food. I’m saying that’s Japanese, Chinese. That’s one thing I love about Japan. It’s a variety. You get all kinds of stuff. Okay, I’m on the back end. I’m just going to walk through here real quick just to see what they offering. They got a lot of stuff in here. A lot of people in here. The food is real healthy. I’ve been trying all kinds of food. And that’s one thing. I haven’t felt bloated. I haven’t felt sick. You can look at it. It’s fresh. It smells fresh. This place is big. All right. We coming across stuff soon as we check out this. It looks good. So, this is a whole area. I left a whole another section and now it’s going into a a new area. I’m not going to go in there. But I’m trying to leave. One thing I’ll say is it’s been nice here. I’ve been seeing a lot of news. People been asking me Are we welcomed here? Do we do I feel welcome? Have I experienced anything when it comes to racism or anything like that? Not one bit. Not at all. I’ I’ve seen the articles. Let me talk and y’all can see these crowds. I did see all the news articles. I am reading hearing people say we aren’t welcome. Don’t come. As a tourist, as a foreigner, I disagree. You can get five bad people come across something and they’ll blow it up. Look, I don’t know where I’m at, but we already somewhere in the middle middle of it all. Oh, this was a mall I just left out. But you’ve been seeing signs that saying no foreigners. I have not seen that sign yet anywhere. A lot of signs are in Japanese. There’s a lot of places that don’t have any signs in England. Um, but no, I haven’t had any bad experiences since I’ve been here. I was here uh 11 months ago, 10 months ago, and [Music] she pointing at me. Let me get out of here. I’m talking about my experiences. It might be my first bad one. I don’t know what they fussing about. [Music] Let’s walk through here. We’re going to come back on the main street. You will see a lot of big screens, a lot of cartoon characters, animations. They real lively when it comes to color and and cartoons. This is a this is a casino. I was about to say arcades, but no, they in there gambling. It’s big. I’m going to save my money. I don’t want to risk it. There you go. You got all these streets everywhere. Real small streets, a lot of shopping, a lot of restaurants. This is one place where I will say they don’t cater to foreigners as much as other countries. And I’ll say that because out of 10 restaurants, eight are going to stay in Japanese. They won’t even it won’t even be in there won’t be no other language. It won’t be English. This one here, they were nice enough to put the price amount in English, the numbers, but ain’t nothing else on there. That’s what you get. You’ll see that on a regular. That’s everywhere. Some places it won’t even have that the price amount of English. This is a tourist area. I’m seeing they saying they want to maintain their culture, their tradition, and they don’t want foreigners to come in and change that. That’s that’s a whole conversation for a lot of different topics. I did see that the country is 97 98% Japanese. They do have foreign laborers coming in here working. they welcomed in here them in here. So at 98% I don’t know what other country is close to that when it comes to foreigners. But enough with that. I’m looking for some food. This this Shman looks good. I’m curious on what Shman tastes like in Japan. We going to walk down here. I am hungry. you will see uh men and women just standing on the street hanging out. They love their phones out here. If you on a Subway or you in a restaurant, everybody got their phone up to their face. That’s one thing I’ve noticed. Everybody. And we going to go in this shop, get some water. It’s a smaller shop. Check out. They still make magazines and they making them on a regular. Let me find the drinks. The food out here is so fresh. I had some rice with cheese and grit, some cheese and shrimp yesterday. It wasn’t in the store, but it was the best rice I’ve had. It was real good. All right, I got my water. The sun’s coming out. It’s hot. Check this guy out. And uh this is my second time here in Japan. One thing I’m seeing with that culture, you know, they they real reserve. They’re introverts. You don’t get a lot of eye contact or smiles or hi. They everybody kind of keep to themselves. That’s one thing I’ve noticed here a lot. So on the subways, it’s real quiet. In the restaurants, you know, it’s not as loud as you would think it’d be. But I I was in one restaurant where there was some guys in there drinking. They was having a good time. Loud. I mean, I wanted to join them. They drink. [Music] Is this the famous I don’t know if this a famous walkway. I think I just stumbled across it. We about to see. They about to start crossing. You about to see all the chaos. Let me try to get out the way. Ton of people out here. If you’re not into crowds or you get anxiety, this wouldn’t be the place for you. A lot of tourists mixed with locals. See BaskinRobins across the street. We going to walk around. This is my first time in Shabuya. Check this beer garden out. They got some crates for some seating. They got the little the truck there. Hey, they made me had to buy some clothes out here. Everybody out here dressed. I be looking like a bum when I’m out. So, I I actually had to buy some some shorts and shoes and t-shirt. I bought a couple t-shirts. This is a camera store. But they dressing. They look good out here. I said, “Man, I’m looking like a bum. It’s another big camera store. They got all It’s not just cameras, electronics. I’m going to go in there. We’re not going to record this, but we going to get back on the street. I was wrong. That was not the famous walkway. This is it. We about to walk up here and watch this. Oh man, look at all these people. This is low season. This is the low season. [Music] Crazy. [Music] One thing I noticed, there’s no trash cans out. It’s hard to find a trash can. If you got trash, you going to be holding on to some stuff for a while. This is the famous street. We’re going to wait for a light to transition through so y’all can see the chaos. I’m trying to let me hide and get to a a safe safe place. All the highrises there. I did watch a lady. She showed a couple high-rise buildings where you can get up there and you can watch it. Like here, there’s a stopbox there and they watching the traffic. It’s a good shot to get if you’re recording. [Music] All right, here we go. Chaos. Everybody got their cameras out recording, showing. Just go whichever way you need to go. [Music] Yeah, [Music] is it? I don’t know which way I need to go next, but we just going to walk. [Music] All right, here we go. [Music] Enjoying the chaos. [Music] That wasn’t too bad. We’re going to dip off in some streets. Shabuya is similar to um the other area, shopping, restaurants, bars. So, they both they both the same. You got your high-end restaurants, places they eat. Oh, that’s a trash can right there. They hide them. I didn’t even know that was a trash can. I wouldn’t have known unless I would have seen this guy. All right. I’ve been eating all kinds of beef out here. Why goooo it all? It’s good, too. I still like my stuff a little bit more cooked than how they cook it, but it’s still good. I’ve been eating a lot since I’ve been out here. You going to want to try everything you see and it’s authentic. What’s this in here? You want some bling bling, some fake bling bling, that’s where you go. [Music] You just got streets and streets. If you ask me how long should you vacation out here, I would say a week. Because you can take a train. They got the speed train you can take to other cities. You can spend your whole time here and enjoy it. Got the kids out here. They love these these big LED screens. They everywhere. Oh, it’s IKEA right here. It’s weird. The IKEA is in the middle of all of this. The shoes and clothes are pretty expensive. They not cheap like the other Asian countries. So when you come here, be expect to spend some money. Expect to spend some money. It’s still cheaper than the West, but it’s definitely not cheap. So, it’s going to cost. [Music] You see the traditional clothes. I don’t know if they working in they working or where they dressing up to where they You know what? I see a McDonald’s back there. I haven’t seen McDonald’s. There’s a Burger King here, too. They eat so healthy out here. You don’t see a lot of Western fast food places. And that’s one thing I I started looking around. They not obese out here. They are they are small, thin. They don’t eat a lot of junk food that we got in the West. They do have junk food here, but it’s not as much. It’s not just in your face. Man, this is crazy. You can go left or right. It’s streaks and streets going down there. If you went to crowds and you like to to people watch and and look around, I’m going have I haven’t had kebab and shmer in a while and I keep seeing it. So, we’re gonna have to try We’re gonna have to try some. That beef looks good. Juicy, too. Made from Turkey. I need to go to Turkey next. I hope. Yeah. This is from It looks good. I told them spicy. I don’t know how spicy it is, but it look tasty. It’s hot out here. I’m starting to sweat now. Chicken beef. Very good taste. Very good. We’re about to go down a side street. I see a lot of people moving through. That’s one thing I enjoy. You just come out here and just walk. You can walk everywhere. Half the time you won’t see the same streets. You look for something Pacific. Pull out that GPS and it’s a hunt. This is going up. This is pretty nice. You walking uphill. Got a pizzeria here. restaurants are all to the left and right. I see a Mexican flag back there. Okay. Whatever this is, this is it’s packed. That must be a popular place there. We going for the ride. [Music] Nice cafe. They playing. Somebody playing candy shop up in here. That walk just got us up to this look like a mall. It’s huge building. They got stores, shops and go back down that way. So they’re showing a park, public hall, it’s a broadcasting center. [Music] I would say if you get a chance to come out this way, definitely stop. Dang, baby. Nate got this huge store. I don’t I’m not big into this stuff, but I never seen a a bathing a bait. I don’t know the correct name. That tells you I don’t shop there. But I’ve never seen a big store like that from them. [Music] Yeah, you got hotels. Shake Shack. I’m surprised to see this here. Where I’m staying, you don’t see any tourist. You don’t see any foreign uh franchises. So, the Burger King, the McDonald’s, the Shake Shack, I haven’t seen any of this stuff in days. I’ve been relaxing. I’ve been out here for a while now. I haven’t done much recording. I’m just here to take it easy. Still trying to figure out where we’re going next. If we’re going to go to Europe or if we’re going to go to Africa. We got to figure that out. Let’s uh got a Bears jersey on. Got streets for days. You can just watch these videos and just enjoy just people watching. [Music] A lot of stuff going on, folks everywhere. If you love stores, I go into the stores and just just look around. Check this out. This a cool looking spot. I don’t know what it is. Cartoon characters. [Music] That’s cool. [Music] Look, they got they got shops dedicated just for photos. [Music] Guys, looking for the hotel rooms. Yeah, I I don’t know. I I think I like this area better than Shinjuku. I’m in the streets, cars coming, a bus coming. The the energy here is a little different. I’m not saying it’s better, but I I like the streets. [Music] Real cool. Let’s uh I think I’m walking away from everything cuz the crowd’s getting smaller and smaller. So, we going to turn around, go back to the chaos. There’s a lot of record shops here. It’s pretty nice. I like this shop. [Music] I don’t know who decided to make that cover, but that’s cool. This is the second floor. Man, look at that. Temptations. It’s cool. They big on vinyls out here. That’s one thing I’ve noticed in Asia. A lot of record stores. Semi-truck playing music. I definitely was not expecting this. Mustang on some spinners drop top with TV. Wow. I heard they got a a nice uh car scene out here. That’s real nice. Classic cars, local cars, imports. That was cool, though. Those are the famous Mario Karts, the go-karts. They ride on the streets. This is unique. It’s a clothing store that sells food and the food looks good and they have shakes and everything. They have the big bar in the back. That’s This is different. And the food looks good. The clothes look nice. All right, we’ve been walking around, but here you go. Shabuya, Tokyo, Japan 2025 is still live. Everybody’s welcoming. All that stuff you seeing for clicks and rage bait. Don’t even worry about that. That’s why I got you. I’m out here. I’m showing you. I’m telling you. I’ve been out here for over a week now. And it’s been nothing but love. No issues. Everyone’s been nice, friendly, and that’s just what it is. We’re going to keep walking around. Appreciate it. Follow. Check out my other channel. Japan is on my late 2026 calendar. I had to give a like & comment for a fellow brown traveler 😂. Keep inspiring me, big bro(i think you're older than me). Very well shot & cool areas. I been to 9 European countrie if u need ideas.
The Japanese generally love black folks, u feel me.
