How to Find the Best Restaurants in Japan
Finding a restaurant in Japan can be a little tricky. Many gems are hidden in the basement or higher floor of the building or best ones are in the small back street or in the residential area. Finally found one on the internet but it can be long wait or who is reservation. Time is precious for travelers and what locals use is travel. It’s a site any locals know. And this is a global version. You can find location and what you like to eat. You can avoid making mistakes by seeing other reviews. But wait, everything is three stars here. They don’t have top restaurants. Truth is, Togo star system is different from other sites and you rarely see four. If you find your favorite restaurant, you can choose date and time and courses depending on the restaurant. You can choose your country and type phone number. With Tableau, Tokyo, Cyto, Osaka, wherever you are, you don’t need to have a Japanese phone number. No need to speak Japanese. You can enjoy the trip without wasting time in line or tourist traps. Have a great trip to Japan.

Last week my friends and I were looking for a place to eat in Kabukicho, and one of them pulled up Tabelog. I was surprised! I didn't realize it was still around because I remember browsing the website in the late 00s and hadn't heard of it since then 😅
Great tool! Arigato!🪭💕
For me is not difficult to find restaurant in Tokyo. The city is a food paradise there's delicious food everywhere. That's the best thing in Japan
Haha yes, I had to do that very often! But in きょと , I managed to find a restaurant where I could just walk in and eat! No reservation! It was very good.
Great advice! Finding places to eat with my picky eaters outside of Tokyo is one of my concerns for my trip to Japan.
Thanks Kenchan, another useful piece of advice!
Nice tip my friend, thank you
Great recommendation!
Thanks for sharing
Me and my friend used to go to a Udon restaurant alot. The taste was genuinely mesmerizing, really really good.
When i first came across Tabelog, i checked what it says about that Udon Restaurant. It was 3.4 stars.
I was really confused. Apparently Japanese people are extremely critical in reviewing. Taste, cleanliness etc are not everything for them.
If the waiter or cook didnt bow deep enough, they give 1 star. If they didnt say Irrashaimasen fast enough, they give 1 star. If theres traffic outside the restaurant they give 1 star.
Funnily enough, if there is a huge line and long waiting time, they will give high rating, even when the food is not good, as they perceive that as high value restaurant.
Now i realize, 3.4 is considered very high on Tabelog.
This will be a big help for those of us without a phone number 🙂
Arigato gozaimasu!
Im unable to download Tabelog app in Australia 🙁
