Inside Japan’s New Waldorf Astoria Osaka 🤯 Next-Level Luxury

This is Japan’s most gorgeous new points hotel, the Waldorf Histori Osaka, and it completely blew us away. The hotel is located on the 29th to 38th floors of a skyscraper in the city’s lively Umikita district, so it has stunning views of Osaka’s skyline. Renowned hotel designer Andre Fu blends elements of art deco and traditional Japanese culture throughout the property to stunning effect. The hotel’s focal point is the allday bar and restaurant Peacock Alley which has triple height ceilings with cascading chandeliers and a Seikko clock inspired by the original Waldorf Histori’s famous clock. The hotel also has a French brazarine called Jolie where you can sample from the enormous breakfast buffet and a sizzling Japanese tanyaki restaurant called Sukimi that serves rare tajima kurog wagyu beef. Of course, there’s an extensive gym to work off all that food, as well as a dreamy indoor pool, but you might want to just pamper yourself with a treatment using La Prairie products at the spa. As for the rooms, my corner suite had wraparound windows that looked over the Yodo River and the Congo Mountains, which was just breathtaking at sunset. The decor was inspired by Japan’s natural beauty with greens, blues, and bronzes to reflect the country’s forests, coastlines, and mountains. You can also spot Japanese craft elements like handmade kumio screens and washi paper bed panels fancifully shaped like peacock tails and Asian hand fans. Rates at the new Waldorf Historia Osaka start at $540 or 120,000 Hilton Honors Points. So, when do you plan to check in?

The brand-new Waldorf Astoria Osaka is here — and it might be one of Japan’s most stunning luxury hotels yet. From incredible design and fine dining to world-class service, this property is already making waves (The Points Guy calls it a must-watch opening). Here’s a first look at what makes it so special.
