There’s a new hidden gem in Lafayette that sushi lovers from Boulder will want to discover. Hokkaido is serving up some of the freshest, most flavorful sushi around. Whether you’re grabbing a quick pickup order or enjoying the all-you-can-eat sushi bar, this place is kicking it with raw fish done right. It’s hidden at the South West corner of Arapahoe and 95th street down the strip from the Casbah Cigar Lounge and Atlas gourmet.
For me, the stars of the menu are the super white tuna and the Hamachi. Add in their tuna carpaccio and you’ve got an unforgettable treat. Boulder takes sushi seriously, and Hokkaido fits right in with the highest expectations. In fact, Boulderites might just set a record here for the most sushi meals in a week—or the most pieces eaten in a single sitting.
Now, let’s talk about the words that usually scare me: “all you can eat sushi.” Too often that means corners cut, rice padded, and quality sacrificed. But Hokkaido is the exception. By carefully curating selections from their regular menu, they manage to deliver the same quality in an unlimited format. If you’re in the mood to sample and explore, this all-you-can-eat option is pure freedom.
A combination of sushi, rolls, and more.
The menu makes it easy to mix it up. Try a Sex On The Beach roll for fun, keep it clean with an avocado roll, or explore something unique like mango sushi. Want just one piece instead of a full roll? They’re happy to make it happen.
The fish roe is hidden on this platter.
In a Boulder County dining scene that keeps expanding with fresh flavors, Hokkaido has already carved out a spot as a true hidden gem. For Boulder sushi fans looking for something new, Lafayette is waiting with an experience worth the drive.
