This time, I drove along a group of narrow, rugged roads in the Higashikubiki Hills, which stretch across central Niigata Prefecture, that have not yet been filmed. Because the recording took so long, I’m releasing it in two parts.

The first part of the video heads north on Prefectural Route 326. This route sees a fair amount of traffic, and the road conditions are generally good. It feels like you’re driving over the hills, and the scenery is quite enjoyable.

The middle part of the video passes through Prefectural Route 56, which I previously filmed. It’s known as a principal prefectural route that still has dirt sections, but since my last time, the paved sections have increased, and it appears that work is underway to pave the entire route.

For the final part of the video, I drove along Prefectural Route 341. The section from Prefectural Route 56 to National Route 403 looked much narrower when viewed on Google Maps Street View, but when I actually drove along it, it didn’t seem so bad.
