Akita’s Summer Festival was Something Else
Day two begins in Aka. We’ve got the festival tonight. I had to find a coin looker first cuz I didn’t want to carry my suitcase in my hotel like I had to do yesterday. And I found one here thankfully cuz there was a very nice lady at the train station who spoke a little English. I spoke a little Japanese and they helped me find one cuz they knew where they were. I think they were employed. They had some fellow yellow jacket on. Maybe just being nice, but I very much appreciated the help. So now can explore. Don’t know what to do. Catch me. However, I didn’t like the walk to be so uphill. Don’t mind on a normal day. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] And look, you can hand me over just about I kind of [Music] seriously absolutely deafening down south of these cicada. I don’t know if it comes or it’s just so insane. Yeah, the castle was nice. There wasn’t much there, but the view from the top makes it worth 150 in and you get a view. I don’t mind that [Music] And in this part, the strangest thing I just queued up for was I was urged that you knew. Okay. Um it was just like a tent of dogs in cages. I thought they’d be like, you know, they’d be out to play and you can stroke them. Um but you know, I thought, oh, that’d be a lot for the dogs. I think they’re going to be quite relaxed, but they you just got to look. It’s not great that there’s a fan on them at least at least. I mean, didn’t cost anything. So, we’re not supporting it. Like, why you just got two dogs in cages just to look at? You can see that just going anywhere you’ll find. I could I don’t understand. No, this walking tour is pretty good. There’s this shrine here which is just very small, but it has boxes on either side to get all down. You have a down when you set out for a goal and you fill one item. When you complete it, you fill the other end and then discard it somewhere like here. And what do I spot in this very tiny shrine with a British lag. Look. And here I found one of the most holy buildings in all of Acata. Not religiously. The book off a donkeyote and a missed all in one. It’s my favorites. Let’s go. Spent about half an hour there. I actually forgot how Walmart was outside. It’s so good. I did give this absolutely adorable cocon box. Love it. So, my hotel for today isn’t working filming too much. It is an onen hotel, which I’ve never stayed in before. Um, has it upsides and downsides. So the room is like this. Um it’s got an open ceiling. I knew that going in. This was actually the last hotel in Akita. Um so I went for what that was. The downsides. I got in I wanted a cold I got in. I wanted a shower, right? I had you have to go into the onen bit just to have a shower. So I wasn’t quite ready for that, but I did it anyway. And it kind of came out warmer. So story time. I hadn’t gone on an last time I came to Japan. I went the first time. I had a bit of a bad experience. It was way too crowded. So, I didn’t go back. Um, and I’ve kind of been like not scared but worried about going back ever since just cuz it is, you know, as a British custom as a part of British culture. It’s not a thing getting nude in front of a bunch of people. Um, so I kind of was putting it off. Had a few opportunities for like the last two hotels I went and had an optional one. I thought, no, it’s going to bath in my room. But this one, I wanted a shower and I needed a shower. I had to go in the onen. So, I went into that bit. Was naked anyway. You know what though? I would have enjoyed the out a lot more if it wasn’t currently 30° in summer going from warm to warmer. Um, if I come back to Aku, I think I’d stay at this kind of place again. But for now, I got it cuz it was the last place and I’ll take it on. Oh my god, look how beautiful this is. [Music] Anyway, now we’re walking to the festival. I am running slightly late because I had to cool down after the onsen. I got a classic ice cream for this time of year. It’s good. This is for extra festivals everywhere. And now for the show. See [Music] number [Music] Come back to a game. Thank you. You got this. [Music] [Music] That’s [Music] commercial. [Music] control. [Music] The door What do we do? Up. Up. Up. Up. [Music] [Applause] We get better. Hold on. That’s really nice. [Music] Great. Great. [Music] Up. [Music] Up. Up. [Music] Morning [Applause] ice. And that’s the festival done. It was good fun. There was a nice atmosphere. I did feel like there was the same thing going on for about an hour. Um, but I I did enjoy it. Did have a nice little moment in the 7-Eleven. They asked if I needed a bag. I said no. But then I realized, hang on, I don’t have my spare bag with me cuz that’s at the hotel. So, I looked in my bag. I would have space if I chugged the rest of the orange juice I had cuz it was a big bottle that I could throw away. Chugged it in front of the She laughed. This is now I’ve got space and then put the things and nice little moment. [Music] [Music] It was a good question. [Music] [Music] And lastly, I had intended to try the low balloon on the queue was about 2 hours long. So that’s the end of the
Akita was the first major festival on the list and it didn’t disappoint!

I like your videos! One small recommendation. I would invest in a small clip on microphone, so it will catch you voice when you turn away from the camera while you are talking.
