A “rice field rugby” event recently took place in the city of Sakurai, Nara Prefecture. Participants scored “tries” while smiling, even while getting covered in mud. The event was organized to revitalize the local community by utilizing unused rice fields. A participant said, “My feet got stuck in the mud and I got tired, but it was really fun.” About 150 people enjoyed the event.
