Good news! Batik Air will officially resume its direct flights from Kuala Lumpur (KLIA) to Osaka Kansai International Airport (KIX) starting 15 December.

After suspending the route last year, the airline is back with an upgrade.

Instead of the smaller Boeing 737, Batik Air will now operate the route with Airbus A330, which comes with 12 Business Class seats and 365 Economy Class seats.

The flights will run three times weekly, perfect for a quick winter escape

Whether you’re planning to chase the snow or catch the cherry blossoms later, the flight is designed for convenience.

With the A330, passengers can expect more comfortable seats, improved cabin design, and smoother onboard services compared to the previous aircraft.

Batik Air CEO Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy said Malaysians have always loved Japan, and that Osaka, in particular, has its own unique charm.

He added that with the route returning, travellers now have greater flexibility: they can fly into Osaka and return from Tokyo (or vice versa), both with direct connections back to KL.

It also comes at a perfect time as Malaysia gears up for Visit Malaysia 2026, where the country hopes to attract more Japanese travellers to its beaches, heritage cities, and diverse food scene

Here are the promotional prices for the fares:

Economy Class: from RM599 one-way, all-in

Business Class: from RM3,599 one-way, all-in
