2025 summer Japan🇯🇵 Tourist spots with a view of Mt. Fuji. Shizuoka Prefecture, Yamanashi Prefecture

Today’s tour will introduce you to some great spots with great views of Mt. Fuji and popular tourist spots among locals. Let`s go! It’s a two and a half hour train ride from Tokyo Station. The spectacular view of Mount Fuji from Arakurayama Sengen Park is widely known around the world as a symbol of Japan, and attracts many tourists from both Japan and abroad. After passing this shrine, we head to a park with a view of Mount Fuji. Foreign tourists often don’t know this, but Mount Fuji is not always visible no matter which tourist spot you visit. The probability of seeing
Mount Fuji varies greatly depending on the season and weather, but is generally higher at over 50% from November to February when there is less dust and water vapor in the air. On the other hand, when we went, it was around June to July when humidity is high, so the probability of seeing Mount Fuji is low at around 20%. I found a website for a company that predicts the probability of seeing Mount Fuji at each date and time. Details will be in the description, so don’t forget to subscribe and click the like button! Lake Kawaguchi is also famous as a scenic spot from which you can see Mt. Fuji. This hotel offers Mount Fuji water and rice crackers, allowing you to enjoy being close to Mount Fuji. After filling our stomachs, we set off for Lake Kawaguchi. Oishi Park, located north of Lake Kawaguchi, is cool even in mid-July, so the lavender fields are in full bloom. Not only are there small boats and pleasure boats on Lake Kawaguchi, but you can also go smelt fishing from October 1st to April 15th. A fishing license is required, which can be purchased from vending machines or at nearby convenience stores. There are several souvenir shops around the lake, so we went to try some lavender-flavored soft serve ice cream. I love the smell of lavender, so I can pretty much imagine what it tastes like, but… does it taste as good as I imagined? Wow! Contrary to its appearance, it has a rich milky taste with a subtle lavender scent. It’s easy to eat. Oishi Park is filled with flowers that bloom in all seasons, so you can take some beautiful photos on days when you can see Mt. Fuji. Very big size! There is a sea of trees nearby, so we recharged ourselves with natural energy before heading to our next destination. Approximately 1,200 years ago, lava flowed from a major eruption of Mount Fuji, covering a vast area, and approximately 3,000 hectares of virgin forest was formed on top of it. The ground is covered with lots of fallen leaves and is very soft and fluffy. Next, we head to Shizuoka Prefecture. It’s a three and a half hour drive from the sea of trees, and about two hours by Shinkansen from Tokyo Station. Shizuoka Prefecture is famous for its tea, but it’s also famous for a sweet called Eel Pie. Shunkado, the makers of Eel Pie, has created the Sweets Bank Shop, a unique store where household items are displayed at 13 times their normal size. Here you can have a healthy lunch, where you can choose your salad portion, side dish, and main course. I ordered a large salad and fish spring rolls. The fish was delicious. This is green giggles. I didn’t know any other sweets besides Shunkado’s Eel Pie, so I was surprised by the wide variety of Western and Japanese sweets they had. In the sweets section, you can see the process of making sweets. The sweets made with peaches and Shine Muscat grapes from Yamanashi Prefecture look delicious. Yamanashi Prefecture is known as the kingdom of fruits, and during our trip we came across fields of grapes, peaches, and plums, which are the number one producers in the country. There are also sweets made with Shizuoka matcha. I chose the peach dessert. The hand towels come in interesting Eel Pie packaging. The fresh sourness and sweetness of the peach fills my mouth. This dessert features the natural flavor of Japanese peaches. Even the toilets and umbrella stands have been carefully designed, making this a space that is enjoyable down to the smallest detail. When I step outside Sweets Bank, I feel as small as an ant. The local bank next door also has an oversized fountain pen for visitors to enjoy. ” Welcome. How can I help you? ” Finally, cool off at Nakatajima Sand Dunes, one of Japan’s three largest sand dunes. It’s a 10-minute drive from Sweets Bank, or an hour by train. This place is also used as a filming location for movies and TV dramas. In the summer, it is a place rich in nature where loggerhead turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. When strong winds blow, beautiful wind patterns like these appear. The sand dunes stretch approximately 0.6 km from north to south and 4 km from east to west. The sea, which I haven’t been to in years, feels open and refreshing. Please enjoy the energetic sounds of the ocean for a while. You can wash your feet in this park near the sand dunes. It’s a unique park with 16 stone statues. ” My friend. ” There is a sumo ring, so if you’re lucky you can watch sumo practice. How was today’s tour? I hope you have lots of good fortune today. See you again soon!
