I Spent a Full Day at Osaka Expo 2025 (Pavilions Tour & Highlights)

There is really no other place I would want to wake up in right now other than my hotel room in Ozaka because today is finally the day that I’m visiting Ozaka Expo 2025. [Music] Wow. [Music] Hey. [Music] Wow. [Music] Now, the very first thing we need to do before we actually can visit Ozaka Expo is, you know, obviously to get there. And in order to get there, we’re going to be taking the tube from central Laka all the way to Yumashim Island, which is the man-made island on which the Ozaka Expo is held. Now, when it get when it comes to getting to the expo, there’s two entrances, the east and the west gate. The east gate is the one that is probably the one that most people will be using. It’s the one that is most easy accessible from the city, and it’s the one that you’ll be getting on if you take the train. The west gate, on the other hand, is for different modes of transportation. It’s the gate you will get to if you’re taking a bus, an express bus, a highway, or an airport shuttle, or potentially a taxi. I’m not actually sure whether the cars are allowed on the site. I need to double check that. But yeah, so like depending on the world of transportation, you’ll be using one gate or the other. Now, as usual, just before we get there, I do need my morning energy boost through coffee. So, let’s go to a coffee shop. I found this very lovely and adorable coffee shop in Ozaka that I think is fantastic. Let’s go in. [Music] It is closed. I mean, still, shout out to them cuz their coffee is fantastic. Let’s guess a new coffee shop. There’s just another coffee shop around the corner. So, let’s try this one. And it’s very well breed as well. Uh, no, that’s that’s okay. That’s okay. Thank you. Thank you. This is so cute. Although, I got to say, I’ve never seen a nice latte with like whipped cream on top. I mean, have I? I don’t think I have. I haven’t tried it yet. [Music] As we’re still on the train about three stops away from Machina Island, I’m just spending some time setting up the Expo personal agent app, which is actually a pretty cool app that the Expo has released. It’s an app that uses AI to essentially help you navigate the expo. First and foremost, they can create a daily plan. You can tell them information like what time you’re planning on arriving, which gate from, uh what time you’re planning on having lunch, dinner. They will create a bit of a custom itinerary for you based on your interest and preference that you can set through the app. But also, uh it’s quite cool and I think this is probably the feature I’m going to be using the most cuz I have a bit of a plan on what I want to do in the expo is the interactive map. There’s a map that shows you where all the pavilions are and it does help you with navigating the expo side. So, it can create a bit of an itinerary. It knows where you are. So it tells you, you know, a little bit like Google Maps. It tells you go this direction, that direction. And I think that’s quite useful cuz from memory, the Dubai site was immense. And I think Ozak will be nothing but less than immense as well. So I think that app is probably one of the essentials um when coming to visit Ozaka Expo. But we’re almost there. And I haven’t finished my coffee yet. So I’m going to crack on it so I can film properly. [Music] I think you can get a feel already of how busy the expos will be. This is just the people on our train getting off at Yumishima Island. We are out of the train station and we’re now officially walking the staircase that leads at the gate of Oaka Expo 2025. Something cool is that the queue is structured by entry time. So, we just managed to get through the queue fairly fast cuz we have entrance booked at 10:00 and we’re now just at the sec checks which is happening in a few minutes. I don’t exactly know how fast this will move, but we’re just by the entrance gate of Xbox 125 which is so exciting. [Music] I’ll be honest, the queue situation is not as horrible as Tik Tok made it sound. There’s definitely a lot of people, but they’re fairly distributed quite well in cues. And I think we’ve been here about 15 minutes, and we’re almost through the final checks, which is where they’re going to check the bags. So, yeah, this was fairly quick. I’m very happy and very impressed with the with the security check. Cleared security and we are officially inside Ozaka Expo 2025. Just going to get my sunnies out cuz he’s so bright. And as you enter the expo, the first thing you see is the enormous wooden ring. Well, that building is a Guinness World Record for being the largest wooden structure in the entire ward. 22 m tall goes around the entire expo side. You can go on it and walk all the way around. And it’s a symbol of unity, which is what the expo is all about. As soon as you arrive at the expo side, you’re also welcomed by the expo mascot, which is this super cute plushy. And I mean, it’s a bit of a strange shape in a way, but his body is made of water and his head is made of cells. That’s why it looks like this. He has a very bubbly and happy personality, and he can shapeshift into a variety of things. So, I’m sure we will see a lot of different forms of this little guy over here. Now, what we’re going to do, I mean, planned for this video is we’re just going to wander through different pavilions. This is a beautiful experience. I don’t exactly know how to approach this. I want to tell you all about the history, all about the architecture, all about the symbolism of each pavilio, pavilion, and what each country brings to the expo. But everything is so cool. Like, look at this. The strings play music as you touch them. Everything is interactive. The exhibitions are beautiful. And I guess I’ll just take you with me on a little adventure, a little vlog, a little uh historical content. I’ll try to put into this video as much as I physically can. So, let’s crack with it. Before we go in and we crack on with visiting all the pavilions, there’s one thing I absolutely want to do, and that is get the little passport souvenir because at the entrance of your pavilion, there is stumps and you can stump your passport. So, I get a little memory of all the things you visited, all the places you visited. And I did the same for when I visited Dubai Expo 2020. I got this little yellow passport with all the sts. And I love that because it’s such a cool way to remember the pavilions you visited and all the places you’ve been to. I want to believe that’s something you get from the uh shop. So, let’s check that out. Looks like the shop was actually the right place. We did find them. I’m trying to make the way to the payment cuz it’s so busy. Such a beautiful shop though. Everything is expo here. Love it. just standing in the Grand Ring and it’s crazy how tall this is. Like 22 m doesn’t sound much but when you are inside this it’s mad. [Music] So with the sort of confusing booking the pavilion system that they had in place at the expo, we did manage to book two pavilions which both of them are quite stunning. The first one is Future City and it’s the one we’re actually heading right now. We have reservation booked for 11:30. So, we’re on the way through. We’re gonna be passing through the Grand Ring because that’s just at the end on the other side of the expo. From the top of the ground ring, you get a sense of the scale of this. This is immense. We also got the most beautiful backdrop of Ozaka just over there. And we’re starting to see like some of the pavilions, how they look like. We have the super famous Ireland pavilion just over here which is one of the most beautiful pavilions when it comes to architecture. I can see France. I can see United States which I would love to visit but I think it has the longest view and I do see Korea and yeah we’re making very future through we’re making our way to future cities which is just actually all the way around on the opposite side. So it’s a bit of a long walk. It’s over one mile just walking on top of this ring. Aside from us walking the ground ring because we sort of have to, it’s a really good idea to start your trip walking the ground ring in the first place because it kind of allows you to get a sense of the queue situation at each pavilion. You know, you can book pavilions online, but some of them you’re just going to find yourself walking in cuz as I said, the booking the booking system is a bit complex. And I’m definitely getting a good sense of what’s a good pavilion to begin visiting and what’s probably one that is a bit too much. As I said, for example, the United States, I would love to visit a pavilion, but standing in the queue for two hours is definitely not ideal, especially when you’re here just for a day and time may be a bit limited. As we make trucks towards future cities, we’re just by the west gate. And as you can imagine, this gate is pretty much more empty than the other one. That’s because you know most people that come here by public transport you will land at the east gate while this is for tours, private transfers, taxis and people that come straight from the airport. Just standing in front of the future city expo pavilion which is one of the biggest pavilions on site with a whole area of 3,300 square m. The pavilion inside offer 15 immersive experiences. They go from something like society 5.0 and future cities to environment and energy, transportation and mobility and food and agriculture. The cool features of this pavilion actually really start on the outside. In fact, the exterior features a double skin design. The first one is an inner titanium dioxide coated membrane that self clean under sunlight and emits a fine mist to cool visitors in hot weather. Isn’t that absolutely mad? There is two separate cues for this pavilion. the one I’m in right now, which is one for people that have a reserved ticket entrance and that queue, which is for people that don’t have a reserved entrance. I think for pavilion this size, you definitely want to book a reserve time. Although, I’m fully aware this was a lottery that you have to win. So, you know, just make sure what my experience with the lottery is put the pavilion you want to visit as the first choice because on both lotteryies, I won the pavilion I wanted to visit and then I put on first choice. [Music] [Music] The pavilion is super cool. It begins with a bit of a theater experience that showcase the different phases of human civilization from society 1.0 when you know it’s a bit of like prehistory humans were just coming together to society 5.0 know which is the end goal of what this pavilion wants to show you. [Music] [Music] Looks like we’re just about to board the train of the future. This model is developed by Kawazaki and looks like it’s called Alis Rail just as it says on top of here. That’s it. [Music] [Music] [Music] We’re just waiting at the exit of the future city pavilion because opposite here there are prototypes of some of the first flying in cars and they’re just about to do a test flight. [Music] No. [Music] Isn’t this thing absolutely crazy? The way it’s flying on his own. I mean, not on his own. He’s a pilot, but the way it’s flying and the flexibility he has in the sky of going up, down, left, and right, I’m speechless. Even has an autopilot feature that literally lands you in the right spot without even touching the button. If you see, if you notice carefully, the guy driving it, he’s having his hands open. He’s actually not touching the controls. Repurposed buildings such as closed schools in rural areas. Another one of the pavilions is the sustainability dome, which is actually a cool little exhibition where it’s all about sustainability. And one thing I love is this little machine, which is a sink that washes your hands using electrolytic electrolytic mist, meaning that it kills 99% of bacteria as usual, but it saves 97% of water. Look how how cool this is. Hello. [Music] I’m happy that we have done a good amount of exploration in the future lives area which is the green area on the little uh expo map. We’re going to now move on to the central bit again after getting some food. There is a 7-Eleven on site which means good food for very cheap. So I think we’re going to head there. Although there’s a lot of other restaurants like this is all a food court. They do sushi. They do like ready food ready to take out food. They do a lot of things. You know, there’s a bit of everything for everyone. [Music] Found a super adorable seating area just opposite 7-Eleven and opposite the West Gate. So, if you’re looking for a little place to sit and get a bit of a bite, this is it. I’m crouching cuz my microphone is attached to the power bank, but this is what I got for dinner for lunch. Looks quite delicious. As we have replenished our energy, we’re going to continue exploring a few more pavilions. Now, we’re just approaching the happiest pavilion at a Zakai Expo. As you can tell from the very smiley, beautiful face. This pavilion is an open space where visitors can just roam through. and it’s designed to bring people together through the power of love. There is a bit of a queue, but it doesn’t look tremendous. So, let’s investigate whether we can actually go in. [Music] I think the queue is for some sort of event or something because it’s an open space pavilion. You can just access by coming around. Look at this. This is so pretty and so happy. But yeah, I think there’s going to be an event happening over there. So, people are queuing for that. [Music] out of Laka Singapore pavilion is closed the whole day for a private event. Sad cuz I really wanted to see it. [Music] Looks like the queue for Romania is not immense. So, I guess let’s try and see if we can learn more about what Romania brought to you expo [Music] [Applause] these shops. So, yes to me this for Omen which looks like a pretty cool pavilion. And I think it’s going to be quite exper experiential. There is a bit of a queue, but it’s one of those pavilions where they open the door and they let through a big group of people. So, I’m positive that we may get through without waiting for too long. So, I was just reading a bit about this um pavilion and the Omen pavilion is about the geographical features of Omen and the resilience of the people from the country that managed to adapt to all conditions. I think this will be a pretty cool one. [Music] This was a really cool pavilion. It’s still not done. We’re just on the outside. But I loved the video and I feel like I’ve learned so much about history of the country in just like 3 minutes. Absolutely brilliant job. Beautiful pavilion. And we got a new st on the passport as we’ve just visited another pavilion. Starting to collect a few. Look at this. [Music] How are you? [Music] We’re now walking through the jellyfish pavilion, one of Ozark’s signature pavilion. Well, this, as the name says, gets inspiration from a jellyfish, and it’s all about creativity and free flow life. It’s a very beautiful pavilion with loads of kids and quite a few activities. [Music] It’s so loud in here. I hope you can hear me. But look how cool this is. This is called the tree of creation. And I just love this. It’s so pretty. I don’t even know how it’s made. It’s quite like strange materials and stuff. Look at this. Getting inside the pavilion is reservation only. So, we don’t have any luck getting inside, but you know, seeing this is enough. [Music] Oh, wow. This must be one of the most impressive pavilions I’ve seen yet. China pavilion is really stunning. Look at this. [Music] Look at these screens. These are all the expos that were held in the last years. And like it shows you the location, the main highlights. So for example, you can just see over here in 1970 the expo was the wasaka. in 2020 Dubai Expo, the one I went to last time. You got Milan, you got New York, you got Brussel, there’s so many. I love this. This is the little expo museum. And the queue for Brazil pavilion now. The queue is not too long. It’s about I want to say 100 people, but they get 20 people each time in the pavilion. And we’ve been in the queue for about 10 minutes and we’re almost in. I think it’s going to be a pretty cool one to visit cuz the queue it is fairly long, you know, and that’s a symbol of how beautiful building up a pavilion is other than just look at this. Oh wow. [Music] [Music] [Music] After Brazil, our next reservation is Takward. Another pretty cool pavilion. Honestly, like this is such a vibe. I’m having so much fun today. There’s one thing that I’m curious and that’s whether we can actually see the water show tonight because I know there is a water show, but we were lucky enough to win tickets for the reservation. Uh so, we’re going to try and see whether we can just get in on the spot. Finger crossed we can. Another pretty cool pavilion at Quord. Its shape is inspired by mountains and the pavilion is about how humans can interact with nature using technology. Thank you. crowd control. They just gave us this kind of cool watch in the life area. Don’t exactly know what’s going to happen. [Music] [Music] An interesting thing is that this is an international expo and we’re in Taur Pavilion, but we haven’t heard one word of English. Like I’m not understanding one thing on what I’m looking at in the TW pavilion. The other ones though did a really good job in ensuring that both languages were spoken at least English and Japanese if not the local languages. For example, running into Romanian pavilion um it was spoken Romanian and I think that’s beautiful and inclusive but taking Japanese leaves out a lot of people that don’t really understand the word all what is being said. [Music] Oh, on a plus. We got a little souvenir. That’s cute. All right. And we are out. We’re going to move on to some more pavilions now. [Music] [Music] We are in one of the coolest pavilions just yet. We’re in the joint pavilion between Lita Group Holding and Ozaka Metropolitan University. This pavilion is smart because they really take the concept of showcasing what a future city could look like and they created this immense mole that I’m absolutely obsess obsessed with. Look at the details. There is so many slides and things that walk you through how everything is going to work. There’s a little train that goes on the trucks over there. There’s this immense rings that go through all over and those two skyscrapers. Like this looks quite dreamy to be fair. I think that if a city looks like this, it would be quite a good and happy city. But I don’t think anything such exists just yet. But I’m just so impressed to actually see this model built to such details. Like look, look at the houses. This is insane. And there’s even there’s even ducks in the water. Now, in this model for a smart city, there’s definitely going to be residential homes that you can as you can see just just down here. And one of the cool bits of this pavilion is that one of the houses was actually built as a model in real size and it’s just over here. So, we’re going to go inside and peek through how the house of the future may actually look like. [Music] This is M. I’m currently standing into what is a model of a house of the future built at the Ozaka Expo 2025. This house showcases immense and so much different technology that I actually lose track of it. I don’t even know where to begin. There’s so many different things. The bedroom has like a built-in wall that turns into a television. The bathrooms have smart mirrors. Uh the toilets are well I mean Japanese toilets are smart per se, but this is even smarter. And there’s a geome lab which I barely understand what it means. Completely unexpected because I didn’t know much about this. But this pavilion was a 10 out of 10. The sun is starting to set and I think this is the best time to experience expo. Like when all the pavilions come alive at night with all the beautiful lights and I think that’s going to be fantastic. I’m really looking forward to seeing the lights. [Music] something pretty cool. We’re in the Chile pavilion and we were just chatting with um the hosts here and the people that volunteer at the expo and they were explaining to us that the building we’re standing in which is this beautiful like sort of like boatshaped uh dome. You know, you can see all the rugs here. These rugs, all the rugs you see over here took 200 people three full months to handmake. And the textiles are beautiful. And the guy was explaining to us that each motif you see on the fabric has a different meaning in Chile culture. Um, and he was telling us to just, you know, sort of like get close and then feel the fabric and try and guess what each symbol could actually mean. Such a beautiful pavilion. It’s really simple, but it’s really effective. And I do love the nature that you see over there in the background, which is very traditional Chile. Heat. Heat. [Music] to sort of begin wrapping up our daily expo. We are now stationed just on the edge of the expo site. Still inside the Grand Ring, but just on almost on the water because this is where a spectacle of air and water called Midnight Rainbow is going to be held at 7:15 every night until the 30th of April. And today is the 26th. Um, there’s going to be a beautiful show of lights and water and we absolutely love a fountain show. So, we’re here. We came here 20 minutes early to get a good spot. Actually, 20 minutes early. It’s It’s now 6:15. So, we came here quite a bit early, about an hour early. But, we got a decent spot and I’m really curious to see how this is going to look like. I’ve seen some pictures online and I think that there’s going to be a projection just inside this sort of like arch and then the fondants are going to extend quite quite far. I I still see a nozzle over there, but let’s wait for now. Just about an hour to go. I’m not really sure of how many thousands of people are just around me now. You can see there’s people all the way up on the Grand Ring trying to get a good view of the light of the fountain and light show. There’s also some very smart people that just went on top of that pavilion and you can see that they’re standing just over there. That’s I mean that’s a brilliant view cuz like just opposite is where the light and the fountain show is going to happen depending on the wind conditions. Foreh. [Music] [Music] Heat [Music] up here. [Music] Heat. [Music] That was one of the maddest and most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. And honestly, when it comes to fountain shows, my expectations are very high after I’ve seen Dubai’s fountain show. Honestly, this was absolutely stunning. We’re just trying to we’re just going to go and try and make our way out of the expo now because there is an immense crowd. Look at all the people leaving the light show and the fountain show. And look at all the people on top of the Grand Ring. mad. I’m I’m really worried how we’re going to deal with the tube station uh with the tube situation cuz we’re going to get the tube to get back to our hotel. There’s so many people that are probably going to leave the expo now. But so worth it. This whole day at the expo was absolutely fantastic. This is a full surprise. We had no idea if we’re going to get far. Wow. [Music] Look at that. [Music] Anyways, I was saying with 10% battery left on my camera and 2% left on my little microphone just over here, I think it’s time to close off the video and wrap up this day at the expo. All I’m going to say is that this expo day has been phenomenal. I’m just under the ground ring right now, which is an immensely beautiful structure. Every pavilion has been beautiful in different ways. I’ve really gotten a sense of a lot of culture, innovation, and everything that has to do with the theme of this expo. And I’m so happy that I got the chance to experience this once again since I last came to Expo in 2020 in Dubai. Honestly, I think I know that the Expo’s received a lot of criti critiques from how the cues are handled to other things. I think that my day here was absolutely brilliant. And to close off the show with that fountain show and the fireworks is definitely a highlight. If you get the chance to come to Zaka, book your ticket. Experts waiting for you and you’re going to have such a fun day. And this being said, I’m going to see you in my next video. Hope you had a good time at AXO with me. And if you happen to visit Oaka Expo 2025, let me know your thoughts down below in the comment. And I’m really looking forward to hearing all about your experience. Wow. [Music] Hey,
