The Final Chapter of the 12,500-Mile Motorcycle Journey Across Japan

Good morning, people. It’s 7:10 in the morning
and we are in Minami Shimabara. We are right outside the hotel
we were staying at. This is actually a traditional Japanese Inn, which has been in business
for over 100 years. So the place, normally it’s
a little bit old, but it was super cozy. We are now in the prefecture of Nagasaki. In our last episode,
we were on that island over there, and we crossed all the way to here to
Nagasaki. And today, well, we’ll basically keep driving north. Okay. Well, I’m ready. Samurai is ready. Kaito is ready. I’ll go out this way. Look at that. That is the Shimoshima island where
we went dolphin watching. And, well, this is the hotel. These are the rooms
that have a view to the sea. But our room here was actually located
on this side, so that was our view, the graveyard. That’s why it was a bit cheaper
than the average room. But apparently most of the rooms
were already taken because the only room available
that we could find online was that one. So anyway, it wasn’t a problem for us. Oh, wow! Look at this mountain. Oh, I gotta say, it’s so cold this morning. We are right next to the sea
and the winds are kind of crazy today. Oh, it’s cold. I had to stop for a minute to look
that mountain online, and it turns out that is actually a volcano. It’s called ‘Unzen’. And it’s actually an active volcano. We’re going to be heading that way now. I read about it and it says it last erupted
in the 90s, and it killed 43 people in the city of Shimabara. Well, there are some big news
that we have to share with you guys. First, I’m going to tell you what
the plan is for today. Oh, my gosh, the winds are crazy. Today we’re actually going
to be heading to Fukuoka. So we are here in Shimabara city. We’re going to be driving north, so heading towards that volcano. And there’s actually this very popular road
for motorcyclists called the Dragon Road. It seems like a very winding road. Today we’re going to be riding for
about 215km more or less. And the big news is… The big news is… We’re almost at the end of our Japan trip. We are almost at our goal, which is Yamaguchi, which is the city
where this crazy adventure started. It’s amazing what we’ve done so far. We’ve gone all the way to the north
of Japan, all the way to the south. And now we’re circling back to Yamaguchi. This is crazy. This is crazy. We’re so excited
about completing this part of our journey. But, let’s not get sentimental yet. This is a trip that means a lot to us. I will tell you more about why
this trip is so important for us later on. Not yet. Not yet. For now, let’s head over there. Oh my God! Look at this! Oh, the hot spring! And it’s windy, so… Oh, the smell! Wow. This is basically a small
hot spring town. And the source of the hot spring
is, of course, Unzen, the volcano. Look at this road! This is the famous Dragon Road, and it keeps on going like that. Wow. Let’s keep moving because this is not the best spot to stop. Wow. The view. Look at that. Absolutely amazing. I took a wrong turn,
and I got on this expressway. We’re going the opposite direction. And the thing is,
the wind is way too strong to be here. Where’s the exit? Okay. Here it is. Oh, man. It’s been fully noted. I won’t take any expressways
on a windy day. Wait, I don’t know where to go,
I need to stop here. So, we go right… Here. You gotta love the views
from this mountain passes. Look at that. Blue skies, the ocean and so much green around. We are now in Saga, and, well, we’re gonna go across
the prefecture all the way to Fukuoka. This is where we are right now. So we went across Nagasaki, we’re now here, and we’re going to finish here. So basically, we didn’t visit
a whole lot of things in Nagasaki because we’ve been here before,
a couple years back. And we visited many places there. The same as in Miyazaki. We just went across the prefecture, but didn’t visit a lot a whole lot of things
this time here. We’ve been there before. No way! Look at this amazing beach
right here. Look at that. The water must be really cold now. Such a nice day
just to be laying on the beach. Wow. Parking’s free for bikes. A couple years ago,
we came to this area here. It’s called the Itoshima Peninsula. There was this little place
at the very tip of this peninsula selling puddings. We’re gonna show you the place
in just a minute, because we’re heading over there right now. And it was already a quite famous place,
but not really famous. There was still not
lots of people coming this way. But now, I mean, we were at the parking
lot there and it was basically full. So I mean, in just the space of,
what, four years, five years, six years, I don’t know, this place
has become really, really famous. But the other business that are on the way
here, completely dead, completely abandoned,
everything. This is the view walking to the place. Pretty cool, huh? “This place isn’t safe” “Keep that in mind” This place isn’t safe. Thank you. We got two puddings. Where you wanna sit? We’re taking these jars home. Pretty cool this place, huh? This place here is actually a factory
where they produce salt, using a very traditional method. And it became very famous
because of this thing here, the pudding. And now people from all over the country
come all the way here just to eat this. And it’s a pudding made with salt
they produce here. There’s caramel
and there’s sea salt there as well. It’s really good. It’s really worth coming here and trying this pudding. Wow, delicious. Wow, look at this place. The London bus. School bus. All sorts of little cafes out here. Look at those jeeps. How cool. There is a white torii gate here. Look at that. Wow. Look at this. More than the torii, I really find those
two rocks over there beautiful. So many people. Incredible how that single torii gate
can attract so many people. Look at that. Everybody’s
lining up to take a photo over there. Good morning, beautiful people. We are here in the city of Fukuoka, and today is our final ride. We are heading to Yamaguchi right now. We’re not that far, actually. We have about three hours
and a half on the road today. 140km. Bittersweet moment, you guys. Excited about
finishing our tour around Japan, but a bit sad because it’s been
such a fun trip. I mean, we met so many wonderful
people, visited wonderful places. Well,
let’s try to enjoy this final ride. Right, Boo? Yes. Look at that. We have a red carpet. We started this project, Project Japan, back in 2022. So about two years ago. And this is a project that was really,
really important for me, especially because, well, Japan is the country
where I fell in love with motorbikes. It’s the country
also where I got my first bike, and it’s the country also, of course,
where I took my driver’s license. So basically, this whole country changed
my whole life because, ever since I started riding, well, that’s
the only thing I’ve been wanting to do. I said we started this project two years ago, but that’s when we started traveling. But if I take into account
the time we took restoring my motorbike,
I would say three years ago. So, yeah, basically, we started this
project Japan three years ago. Many of you might not know this, but my first motorbike was a 1983 Honda GB250. We got it. It wasn’t working at all. It was rusty. It was old.
I mean, it was in very bad shape. And, well, Kaito and I decided
to fully restore the motorbike. And that’s the bike
I started with on this trip. On our first year,
we visited extensively the Chugoku region. And then after that, Kaito
had an accident, he broke his collarbone. So we stopped traveling for a while. Then, eventually, we hit the road again. We went all the way up north to Hokkaido. That was last year. And we visited the northern prefectures
in Japan. And well, this year we basically did
the whole rest. All the rest of the prefectures of Japan. It was so much fun. I mean, if you just go across
this country, you would do it probably in one,
two weeks, tops. It’s a very small country. But Kaito and I,
I think we did over 20,000km in Japan. We really did travel through
the small roads, through the small towns. Visiting places
that normal people don’t go to, you know? I can’t believe this
whole journey is coming to an end. But at the same time, it’s
the beginning of new adventures. Yamaguchi. You see that? It means we’re not that far anymore. Hello. It’d be ¥220. So, ¥110 times 2. Thank you. Go one at a time, please. In a single line. You see this tunnel right ahead of us? This is actually an underwater tunnel. There is a bridge
that connects the island of Kyushu to Honshu, Japan’s main island,
on top of us, basically. But that’s part of the highway. So if you’re not taking the highway,
you got to get on this underwater tunnel. How cool is that? It’s so hot in here. This tunnel is about 1.5 km long, more or less. Well, look at that. We are out. Which way is it? Okay. Let me see. We are back in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Can’t believe we’ve been all over Japan. This is nuts. We made it! We’ve arrived. We did it! We did it, honey! I can’t believe we’re here. We made it back to Yamaguchi. This is where this whole adventure
started. And, I mean, it’s the end of one adventure, but
it’s just the beginning of so many more. Right now we’re going to start
preparing for our next trip, and, of course, we’re going to keep
you posted as soon as we can. But right now,
we just need a couple of days to rest. And we just want to say thank you
to everyone of you who joined us on this adventure. It means the world to us
that you keep on watching our adventures. If you have any questions at all

After months of riding, we’ve reached the final chapter of our motorcycle journey across Japan — covering over 12,500 miles (20,000 km) on two wheels.
In this episode, we ride from Nagasaki through Saga and Fukuoka, taking on beautiful mountain passes and the stunning Itoshima Peninsula before crossing into Yamaguchi. Along the way, we stopped to try local foods and soak in the scenery one last time.
It’s been an unforgettable adventure, filled with highs, challenges, and moments we’ll never forget. Thanks for riding with us!

  11. whenever anyone says we have big news, it is always…I am pregnant or we are getting married. 😁 married yes, pregnant no. You have not heard of the "chunnel" in the UK to europe france I think all under the English channel. It has a highway and a train that goes under it. I remember now that you are showing when you rebuilt your motorcycle 3 years ago. Your features have changed. That is amazing how much. I thought so when I was watching your rebuild but was not into the view of it. Let kaito talk some. He does not do it for a long long time. He knows english very well to not need CC. 😁Congats YOU 2. I was really hoping for and expecting you 2 holding each other so tight for such a momentous occasion, it would have been perfectly legitimate to have a passionate, kiss, full lip lock. 😃😃😃😃 that would have been a perfect ending for 2 lovers making it. Maybe the start of next season in…………..thanks again for taking us all along and distraction and enjoyment. Peace and love. 😍😍😍😍😍😍

  12. I just thought, what a great idea before your next adventure how interesting it would be to see the process of video editing and music selection, the entire process to make an episode. NO ONE has ever done that and I am trying again for the ???? time in about 6 years to edit my bicycle riding video's for myself no one else. I started using openshot. I was finally able to cut out video and then drop in another video and cut it down and then drag them together and remove the black screen. I just want to learn for myself before I die. learn something new and different that I could never do before because all of the editing software is too difficult for me to use or not enough information to use each one. thanks again. Peace.
