first day in tokyo πŸš…πŸ—Ό shinkansen, tokyo character street, udon shin, shopping in shinjuku & shibuya

[Music] [Music] Hi. Today we are on the Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo. We’re finally going to be exploring Tokyo for the first time together. We’re supposed to get in around 11:15 or so and then we’re going to check out Shibuya and Shinjuku a little bit today. But um yeah, we’re pretty excited. Yeah, the Shinkansen ride is going to be about like 2 hours and we tried to book seats on the left side of the train so that we could potentially see Mount Fuji cuz when you’re going from Kyoto to Tokyo, Mount Fuji is on your left side. When you’re going from Tokyo to Kyoto, it’s on your right side. So, we tried to book the left side so that we could maybe see Mount Fuji. We also booked seats with baggage behind us so that we could put our suitcases there so we’d be a little bit more comfortable during the ride and it’s pretty nice. Mhm. We got some food to eat. We’re all ready for this 2-hour ride. It’s going to be good. Yeah. See you in Tokyo. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. N. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. N. [Music] Green [Music] [Music] fish. Turn. [Music] [Music] Hello. We finally made it to Tokyo. Yes, we did. We’re here at our hotel. Is a little bit of a trek, but we also kind of did a little bit of shopping along the way. One of our days later is really packed and so we thought we’d get some shopping done ahead of time so it would be a little bit less stressful that day. Yeah. So in Tokyo Station there’s a little area called the Character Street and there they have really cute shops like Miffy, Snoopy, Rakuma, Chikawa, like just all these different characters and so if you’re into that you should definitely check it out if you’re in Tokyo Station. We went and we definitely did some damage but here we are at the hotel now. Check-in isn’t until 3 and we’re a little early. So, we just dropped off our luggage and we’re about to head out and explore Tokyo for the first time. We’re going to eat lunch. Oh, that’s right. Atong Shin today. Again, an Insta famous Odong place. But hopefully it’s since it’s a little bit off hours, it’s not too popping and we can get in a little bit quicker. But we’ll just have to see. We’ll see you then. Bye. [Applause] [Music] [Music] for you. You Oh yeah. [Music] [Music] I only love you. [Music] [Music] Wonderful night. [Music] about [Music] heat. Heat. Heat. N. [Music] Are you recording right now? Yes. [Music] Hi. Earlier we finished up with Udong Shin for lunch and we actually really liked it. We were a little nervous going in because usually when we try over high places or like high places on the internet, we kind of think that maybe it won’t be like that amazing. But we went and we tried it and we thought the un texture was good and the noodles were good. Overall, we both really enjoyed our respective dishes and we only had to wait 20 minutes which is actually like a win cuz we’ve heard that online people have had to wait like hours to eat there. So yeah, I feel like it was pretty good but it wasn’t like wait 50 minutes or an hour good. Um, there’s probably plenty of good udon places all around Tokyo. And so, if you have to wait that long, I wouldn’t say that it was worth it, but we only had to wait 20 minutes and we just went to like a Starbucks and a Family Mart to grab some drinks while we were waiting and so it it flew by no problem. And then we kind of walked around Shikuku a little bit and shopped. We ended up at the Disney flagship store and then we also went to San Rio and we made our own stamps and that was a lot of fun because I’m a big PCO fan and I think I’ve kind of converted her and so we both made paco stamps with our names on it. Yeah. So, they have this machine at some of their stores where you buy like the outer stamp at the counter and then you go and design your own stamp. You pick your character, design it, put your name on it, and then you insert the stamp ink part into the machine and then they will like print it out for you. So, whatever you design, they’ll they’ll make it for you. And so, we did that and we thought that was really really special cuz we both did one with our names. Mhm. So, we’re here right now at another capsule store. Um, we didn’t roll too much surprisingly, but I’ve been seeing this around and I finally rolled it and I got Paco, which is my favorite character on the first try. It’s supposed to be like a keychain of like a popular chocolate here. And they have all these different characters and we just happened to get the Paco one on our very first roll. So, that is a win for the day. We’ve had many L’s in the past at cap stores, but that is a win. And now we’re going to we’re going to head off to Shabuya now. Um, we’re going to go check out a couple more stores and then hopefully call it a relatively early night tonight because we’re going to Disney tomorrow. Mhm. Got to sleep early. Yep. But we’ll see you there. See you in Shabuya. Catch you soon. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] What’s going I’m pretty sure tomorrow. [Music] Hello. We are back from a long day shopping in Shinjuku and Shabuya. Shabuya ended up being just as hectic as we thought it might be. Um, with a whole like Shabuya crossing thing going on. And then Hiko, the dog statue. That area was very packed. But we did get this pretty cool like Murray. It’s from the tourist information center that’s pretty much right next to the dog statue and it’s got like the Shabuya crossing on it. I think I showed it earlier, but um we just thought that was a really cool collectible. Um and there is also a free Hiko stamp in that tourist information center. So, if you’re a stamp collecting as well, I would definitely recommend checking out the center. When we went, everybody was crowding around the statue, but nobody was inside the information center. And so, we just got to do our stamps and bought our little souvenirs and then left. So, that was that was pretty fun. And then we ended up at Shibuya Parkco, which is this big department store. And we ended up going to Nintendo Tokyo as well as a PokΓ©mon store again. And those were pretty fun. I think because this is our like I want to say like third Nintendo store this trip. There weren’t too many things that were new, but it was still fun to walk around and see what exclusives they have at this location. And then the PokΓ©mon store was not that special. There weren’t too many exclusives at this one, so we kind of just walked around and left. But Shabuya Parkco was pretty interesting. I would say that if you’ve never been to a Nintendo or PokΓ©mon store, it’s a pretty good place to start. But yeah, that’s kind of just like a summary of tonight. I haven’t done this in a while, but in my previous videos, I did like a little snack trying at the end of the night from the convenience store. So, I thought I’d do it again. And today, this is the snack. It’s a fruit sandwich. It’s actually a peach, strawberry, and whipped cream sandwich from 7-Eleven. And we’ve been really, really enjoying these. We’ve had different fruits. I think earlier on the trip I had like a orange and pineapple fruit sandwich and then at some point I had like a purely strawberry fruit sandwich and so this one is a peach and strawberry one so I thought I’d try it. This is what the sandwich looks like. These are like the fruit slices and the strawberry and the whipped cream. We really like these because the cream is like super light. For some reason, these fruit sandwiches are also actually kind of hard to come by in the convenience stores. Like sometimes we’ll go in and check and not see any, but today we found four and so we bought all four so that we could have some for breakfast tomorrow. But they can be kind of hard to find. So I would say if you see it, you should definitely get it and try it. I want to say that these are like one of the best things that I’ve had this Japan trip. I genuinely will miss this when we go back to the States. The sandwich was good. It was. Okay. Well, that is the end of this vlog. Today was our very first day in Tokyo. So, we’re excited to do other things in Tokyo as well. We’re going to be spending about I think like 5 days here, six, I don’t remember. Yeah, we have quite a few days here in Tokyo. So, we’re excited to just like explore more of the city in the coming days. But, hope you enjoyed this vlog. Thank you for watching and I’ll see you in the next one. Hey, hey, hey. [Music]
