Terukuni Shrine in Kagoshima City #Shorts

Our cruise made a stop in Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, where we visited Terukuni Shrine and the statue of Saigō Takamori.
Terukuni Shrine enshrines Lord Shimazu Nariakira, the 11th daimyo of the Satsuma Domain, who played a pioneering role in the Meiji Restoration. It is also revered as the guardian shrine of Kagoshima and is cherished by the local people.
This visit became a journey of discovery into the history of Shimazu Nariakira and the rich culture of Kagoshima.
