Following speculation of a Japan-set Forza Horizon 6 releasing next year, a fresh report has suggested Microsoft plans to officially announce the game and the rumoured location next month. According to Windows Central and very reliable leaker NateTheHate2, the sixth entry will be revealed at the Tokyo Games Show.
Windows Central went first, claiming that it’s seen “official, widely circulated documents strongly suggesting that Forza Horizon 6 is actually planned to be announced during 2025’s Tokyo Game Show”. Then, NateTheHate2 followed up on Reddit, stating: “The plan is to announce this year, with TGS being the venue of intent. The game is set in Japan.”
While it’s always been on fans’ wishlists, speculation surrounding a Japanese-set Forza Horizon game kicked into gear last week when a car import company posted on Instagram it had someone from Playground Games taking pictures of its Kei vehicles, which are native to Japan. The photos taken were being used as “as the basis for their digital versions”, according to the company.
Forza Horizon 6 is all but certain for a 2026 launch, as Xbox boss Phil Spencer said in the last Xbox Games Showcase it would have “a new Fable, the next Forza, Gears of War: E-Day, and the return of a classic that’s been with us since the beginning” to mark the 25th anniversary of the brand. While a PS5 version on day one isn’t an absolute guarantee, the chances it’ll be a multi-platform release are still high.
